bbgoatWelcome aboard. thumbup.gif Wonder what captain going to say. Since he holds maybank shares. tongue.gif

Keep in mind that ambank will charge you Rm5.X+ if you performed >3 withdrawal/IBG transfer/month.

Also you can keep your Truetransact at RM0. Dump everything into the Truesavers. Use the truetransact only for IBG/withdrawal as the RM0.11 is waived.

I also have MBB shares ! tongue.gif

Not sure how the TRUE Savers acct can help me to "squeeze" more free money from AmBank. We will see. I normally do not keep much money in SA. tongue.gif

Your ambank fd interest can be credited to your account. So FD interest + TS interest. Rather than dump in maybank earning only 2.25%, with TS, you are earning extra 0.55% (if amount too small to put efd.) But I don't think that applies to Unker. tongue.gif

Doing FD Musical Chair today (also tomorrow).

In UOB Penang Kelawai Rd branch. Went to the PB centre. So bypass the normal customer service counter which have to go to first before going to their counters for various transaction. gsc has reported this a short while ago. Which is kind of troublesome as a person has to go to 2 counters.

So UOB Penang PB counter solved this issue.  rclxms.gif Got BC for RM0.68 each, taken 2 BC from them.

Quite a number of uncles and aunties up there in the first floor. While waiting, the PB service desk received calls like non stop asking about the latest FD rate. UOB 12 mth rate up to 4.25% until end Dec. (will attach the flyer later).

Met with my RM and got stuck for minutes.  tongue.gif

Went to CIMB to place FD. Before I went, already called to enquire about the rates. For 100k, said 4.2%. Said people getting higher, then the lady asked for amount. Later said can get 4.3% for 12 mths. When I was there asked for even higher rate, the RM said 4.2% to 4.3% can get immediate approval. For higher rate need HQ approval. She will call me later to confirm.

Process in CIMB is super fast. Few minutes only. Already have acct in another CIMB branch. This branch said no need to open another acct as can use the other acct.  thumbup.gif Previously was CIMB PB but cancelled it as they wanted to charge if AUM <250k. Today signed up again and get 2 gifts.  biggrin.gif

End of Part 1.  brows.gif  biggrin.gif

Officially CIMB 12 mth is 4.2%. Getting to 4.3% probably need to ask. To 4.35% need approval from HQ. Did not ask or get flyer. Tomorrow will likely place another one (4.35%) there, already talk to the RM this evening. The 4.35% need some higher amount of principal. Will see if there is official flyer but likely to show 4.2% 12 mths. biggrin.gif

It is actually as you said, a passport holder and a cheque book holder. Initially she said passport holder but I asked for some more and she produced the cheque book holder (though I did not have CA with CIMB).

You did get both, right ?  hmm.gif

eerrr...actually got a few of each brows.gif
These are not PB gifts...I have received them before on other occasions.

Hahaha, anyway they print it as "CIMB preferred". Last time not sure what gift I received, then I drop out when they want to charge monthly if AUM falls below 250k.

So you have got "many" of them ! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

So you receive other PB gifts or nothing as you mentioned earlier ? hmm.gif

Sorry I wasn't very clear.

Previously, banks used to give away really nice gifts when you join their PB programme. Welcome gift, and during birthdays and beginning of the year. In between, they will give you small, random gifts like those passport covers.
What i meant as mentioned earlier , was not receiving the PB gift like those nice proper welcome gifts.

Those random gifts , some with "Preferred" printed on them were also given away sometimes to corporate clients and also during their PR events. These i received during times when I was not PB . (Like you, I was in and out of PB over time)

Not too sure, but probably around 6 figures (the one I placed). You can always ask CIMB branch if they accept lower. biggrin.gif

Some of the PB centre claimed that BNM do not allow gifts as such. But I ended up got gold plated plaque from UOB. Have shown it before.

The best one I got is from Citibank of imported Swiss watch.

Anyway most of the time the gifts are not very useful, like the chopstick and rice bowl from HL (which I also shown recently). biggrin.gif
