My relative went to UOB branch to withdraw FD. Was told run out of BC !! Was asked to do RENTAS instead. Paid RM5.30 for the RENTAS. Is there some other problem that they are having or hiding ?

UOB as a foreign bank, how can they have such issue ? Earlier this year I also have problem with them on run out of account number in that branch ! Ridiculous !

Tomorrow going there also to withdraw as well ! Heard that even for a big sum they will not allow RM10k top up to get promo rate. Anyway their 4.2% promo ends already. I am targeting AmBank 6 mths 4.25% with a 20" bag and 2 yrs 4.6%, MBB 4.5%, MBSB 4.5% ! May keep some in UOB/OCBC for their 4.2% (UOB may continue with the 4.2% in Nov, but tomorrow will ask them).

Tuesday will also be busy doing the musical chair !

That's what I meant. By them giving only 4.05%, they are getting free 0.2% from whoever who placed with them.

Tats why HLB share even market down also keep going up from 13 to 14..

While ambank go from 8 to 4.xx hahaha

Well I don't own any shares. So no problem for me. My FD days are over. Now just hoping got high 1 month efd rates. But most likely don't have.

Only way to win is put money into banks with high FD rates. Then buy shares of kiamsap bank. Win-win situation

eFD hardly to get as high as promo rate with even 1month...lol maybe one day in futures , now is hardly to make it happen.

Sorry for late reply. My 12-mth CIMB FD was a pure FD with no conditions such as credit card, etc. Since the bank officer said can get rebate for petrol, etc so I saja ambil la. No annual fee ma. Later if I really dont use it, will cancel it.

I still hv a smaller FD maturing this week from OCBC and already negotiated for same rate of 4.3% at CIMB. Bank Manager agreed so will move it over this week.

care to answer the questions posted on your cimb 4.3% fd. is it linked to credit card? several people asking.

Will we be looking at 4.5% soon for 12 mths FD or similar? I have a few maturing this week and early Dec. So shd I wait?

Doing FD Musical Chair today (also tomorrow).

In UOB Penang Kelawai Rd branch. Went to the PB centre. So bypass the normal customer service counter which have to go to first before going to their counters for various transaction. gsc has reported this a short while ago. Which is kind of troublesome as a person has to go to 2 counters.

So UOB Penang PB counter solved this issue. Got BC for RM0.68 each, taken 2 BC from them.

Quite a number of uncles and aunties up there in the first floor. While waiting, the PB service desk received calls like non stop asking about the latest FD rate. UOB 12 mth rate up to 4.25% until end Dec. (will attach the flyer later).

Met with my RM and got stuck for minutes.

Went to CIMB to place FD. Before I went, already called to enquire about the rates. For 100k, said 4.2%. Said people getting higher, then the lady asked for amount. Later said can get 4.3% for 12 mths. When I was there asked for even higher rate, the RM said 4.2% to 4.3% can get immediate approval. For higher rate need HQ approval. She will call me later to confirm.

Process in CIMB is super fast. Few minutes only. Already have acct in another CIMB branch. This branch said no need to open another acct as can use the other acct. Previously was CIMB PB but cancelled it as they wanted to charge if AUM <250k. Today signed up again and get 2 gifts.
