Hey guys I recently scratched my car preety badly.. both doors got scratched... How much do you think it'll cost me to repaint it? I don't think there's any dents.

After one month+ hanging out in this thread, I am finally an official Iriz owner. Come give me break-in tips, what are the to dos & donts of new car.

Collected my car from Vincent yesterday. First thing I did was spending almost 2 hours going through the radio manual & setting up the radio/bluetooth calling, etc. Lol. Music is important to me.
Next up to digest would be the thicker car manual.

I think i'm the first person in my condo to drive an Iriz, and while sitting in the car for 2 hours I got quite a few looks from neighbours already. From their face expression I would be guessing their thoughts were along the line of "Hmm wow that's a good looking car, but it has a Proton badge? Hmm hmmm.."


Overall very happy with the car except one thing. Dashboard rattling noise I think.
Haven't really diagnose where/what is the noise. It sounds like something loose from the dashboard or could be air-cond duct inside, but I cant really tell what it is because i cant press the dashboard plastic down (subtle good job Proton, no flimsy plastic)

Will do more driving soon to find out where the noise comes from. If indeed dashboard sound then for 1k service i plan to go SC and ask them remove/re-install/tighten the dashboard.

Scratch against a wall?

Normally for light scratches, clean the area, dry it, polish with machine.

But if deep scratches, need more work. And i see some parts of your scratches have chipped the paint exposing the bare metal.

I am also battling with few rattles till today. Mine are, inside steering wheel(someome showed a tutorial how to DIY this but im not confident to do it), driver's door panel(if i rest my arm on it, it'll be gone) , left dashboard near A-pilar(i stuffed some soft toy at the pillar at the triangle window, looks like a decoration too )

But other than that, no other complaints.

Oh, windnoise at highspeed but since you listen to music alot, i doubt you'll notice it. I always drive without any radio/music so i can notice every single sound coming from the car.

Can i reject the car on collection day if i find something unsastisfactory like minor scratches etc?

that is mostly paint transfer and sticker residue.
just buff it out.

You should be. Let them settle those problems before collecting your car again.

I just got my car yesterday, it's amazing!!! Feels much better than I expected since I tested the 1.3 MT and I got the 1.6 Premium MT, I'm very happy with it so far!

One quick question to all of you guys. How long did it take for you to get the SMS from Yes! for your Huddle XS?

My sales agent said he sent the activation request yesterday but so far I haven't received any messages or emails with my ID and password.

I also called Yes! in the morning but they said that they have no visibility to this because they provided to Proton the IDs and the Passwords and they don't handle that.

The door panel rattle is quite easy to fix. A technician fixed it within 30 minutes in the COE. They just "tambah getah" and now it's back to normal

I'd say they can do it easily during a normal service. Just make show you tell the service advisor exactly where is the issue. Better still, record the noise beforehand.

just tell your Sales Advisor. I told mine after like a week, she was shocked as she already informed the PIC for Yes for my Proton quite some time ago, she immediately went and key the thing for me personally and a sms was sent straight to me.

Thanks Cryptic, I will go on Saturday to pickup my vouchers for tinted windows and such and see if they can sort it out for me. He told me to call tomorrow again at 10 if I haven't received the SMS yet.

should i wait for end of year for more promotion? since the 10% discount i think is from the beginning of the year.

am thing to get 1.3 exec or 1.6 exec. but still calculating as buying my first car. how much should i allocate each month including the cost for service + road tax?

I have the same experience. Tested the 1.3 MT and got 1.6 MT

Ok i identified the noise already. Its from the dashboard directly above the glove box. Normal driving also will have the sound.

If i press it with my palm (or put some weight on it), the noise will be gone.

So far thats the only sound I have lol. My steering, doors no sound, yet (hope it stays that way)

Btw want to ask, in the engine bay, where you check your Engine No there. Is it rusty-ish colour?


Can you guys take a look at yours and let me know? I'm scared if its rust.
