I realized most if not all dash cams on Lazada are shipped from China (unsurprisingly). Ordered mine as I had a RM50 voucher so only had to top up a bit but kinda worried about the quality.
Does anyone know how to line the wire around the windscreen and A-pillar to the cigarette lighter in a discreet manner? I.e as invisible as possible. Easiest way is to let the wire dangle directly from the rear view mirror down the center console but it's kinda ugly.
yes bro , but the sjcam is originally from china .
attached a ugly diagram for your reference , hope you can understand what i draw la
Assalamualaikum and Good afternoon, i wanna ask something. i also looking for dashcams. You can go to dashcam topic at FnF to see the reviews.
I have bought those China dash cam before. Online have good reviews but due to Malaysian weather the plastic cracked and the aluminum bent outwards I had to UHU gum the things back in place. After less than a year, the image started becoming very blury with plenty of noise in the picture. Decided to change mine to the Xiaomi Yi Cam which cost me RM199(RM249 then reduced with RM50 voucher on lazada). Added a suction mount and it is good to go. Its quite comparable to gopro but settings are controlled via the app. If you need a screen then SJ4000 could be a good choice as its around similar price range but picture quality not as good(but it comes with a lot of accessories so you dont need to buy them).
Dont have much videos but heres a sample: EDIT: Please set video resolution to highest.

how much you buy it? where do you buy it? what is the model? there's a lot SJcam model out there mind giving us the model name? quality ok?
Bought it for less than RM300 during promo @ lazada.. I'm using M10 which to me looks more discrete compared to the usual action cam.. Quality has been good enough.. Only bad when there's no streetlights.. the 170° view is awesome... But for me, a dashcam has to be more than a dashcam..unless it's those almost like built in..so depends on your requirements as well... I have the wifi version...so sometimes can juz attach it in the bumper to fet those "race" shots... 😅
Hey guys. I notice the radio sound tends to fluctuate. Suddenly the radio will get softer then it will go back up..
Anyone had these issue?
and also, my front wiper sometimes makes noise when in use.. The annoying squeaking/ngek ngek sound.. It doesn't happen all the time.. Sometimes on got sound, sometimes on no sound. Even in same usage cycle, few swipes got sound, few swipes later no sound, etc.. Any solution for this?
EDIT: Oh and also, the radiator quite susceptible to small tiny stones/sand getting stuck in there. I managed to slightly clean it and get the loose stones/sand out of the way.. That's because i so happen to be checking the front area of the car. Am worried in future if i don't constantly check it, stones may get lodged in there and it will be hard to remove then.
Last time you guys got talk about wanting to DIY to put some sort of shield for the radiator. Any news?

is that the Xiaomi action camera in your youtube link? The picture quality is good. Do you mind taking picture of your car interior to see how you set it up?
So, in general all dashcams are pretty much the same. I've used like 3 or 4 and they have the same settings and all. I recommend you get Class 10 memory cards for them, to avoid corrupt files and proper read/write speed.
Then, also this dude has great reviews on dash cameras...
A two camera setup would set you back like... 40 USD which I think it's super cheap from AliExpress (I got mine there). I have in my Iriz this camera (also, it's very stealthy because of how the mirror on the Iriz is mounted with that black overlay it's very hard to tell there's anything there so it's basically hidden unless you get real close):
the one you are using right now, the shape is a rear view mirror shape? Can take picture from inside the car? wanna see how it looks like when it is set up.

Yes, its from the camera. Its just a suction mount and the camera. Imagine something like a dvr that is squarish and does not have a screen in the middle of the windscreen.

He is wondering how to set it up Wiring sticking out or hidden ??? Auto start records ??? Or have to activate with phone upon restart ?

Wiring goes straight down from gravity then I run the wires along the passenger side straight to the 2 USB ports. Since its not a dedicated dash cam, needs to be manually started. Takes about 3-5 seconds to start. Phone is used if you want to change settings or watch/download files. Power button can toggle video mode, camera mode or of held for 1-2 seconds then it offs the device. Shutter button starts/stops recording or takes a picture.
What I normally do is, key to acc, on cam, put on seat belt, start engine, by this time the camera should be fully on then press record.
Proton has confirmed that ANCAP matter was from their Proton Saga
FURTHER CLARIFICATION BY PROTON SUBANG JAYA, 19 October 2015 – Upon consultation with ASEAN NCAP on 16 October 2015, PROTON Holdings Berhad (“PROTON” or “the Company”) regret for the miscommunication with ASEAN NCAP on the "top tether" matter that was mistakenly omitted from the current running Saga model that was crash tested in 2013. The Company would like to reiterate that we are committed in enhancing safety and all our models are equipped with active and passive safety features. The Proton Saga: In order to provide a higher level of occupant protection on the current Saga, the model had undergone considerable safety upgrades. The 'top tether' and more than 10 other safety enhancement components were fitted for ASEAN NCAP testing in 2013, which include among others, the fitting of a front bumper beam, additional reinforcement to the front bumper and rear bumper, reinforcement to the side impact of the front door and centre pillars, reinforcement to the rear seat back support, addition of passenger airbag with airbag control unit, addition of front seat belt pre-tensioner; and a rear centre 3-point seat belt and the front seat with height adjuster. These upgrades and reinforcements had effectively entitled the car to obtain a 3-star rating when it was tested in 2013. All these were included to enable the Proton Saga to be offered with better safety values and remains at an attractively affordable price. As mentioned by ASEAN NCAP, the top tether can only be effective with the use of a child seat and the child restrained with the safety belt inside the car. The top tether does not in any way, affected the safety of Adult Occupancy Protection (“AOP”) as it is meant for the installation of child seat that is fitted with the ISOFIX and top tether mechanism. In this case, any child seat can still be fitted in the car through normal rear seat belt installation. The top tether was not a regulatory requirement for OEMs to fit in their cars at the point when the car was tested. Although we had complied with safety regulations and other required conditions in the country, we had overlooked in updating ASEAN NCAP on the omission of the top tether from the current Saga models. At this juncture PROTON is offering its customers a free installation of the top tether as an option for current Proton Saga owners. Customers are advised to call our Customer Care Hotline 1 800 888398 or email customercare@proton.com for any enquiries and assistance to schedule such an appointment at their nearest service outlet. PROTON is committed to work together with ASEAN NCAP to help promote safety in the country. ISOFIX and top tether fittings currently are available in all PROTON’s 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating cars, namely the Prevé, Suprima S and Iriz. We wish to assure the public that all Proton cars meet the regulatory safety standards in all markets that we are operating including in Malaysia.
