Hello, everyone. I bought a yoga mat (mat length and width is about 80cm & 183cm, so I figured the box must be about 90cm in height (?). No too sure on the width of the packaging since the mat will be rolled up). But the seller contact me saying that the shipping company requires extra payment before they can process my item in the warehouse. I guess that's because my parcel is too big? I'm not entirely sure.

But it seems shady to me that the shipping company's worker is asking me to resolve this in their WeChat account. They asked me to pay an extra 135RMB for air shipping / 40RMB for shipping by sea.

I wonder is others have such experience? & how should I go about this?

And just a note, I'm new to this taobao game. So I would appreciate your help!

I think you better chat with the warehouse customer service directly.
As far as I know, usually once they received your item at the warehouse,
they will first weigh and then charge you accordingly with the shipping fee.

there is import duty and sst, depend on your luck, RM500 is GST era and only gst, import duty is always there
normally courier company will ask u to pay the tax first

Go for those agents that have "special" TAX inclusive package.
