I personally prefer skynet better. At least for skynet, the tracking number can be used on Skynet malaysia website to track not only on Taobao. For Lazada Air using local GDEX, the tracking number not usable in GDEX website, so you can only depend on Taobao website.

Which shipping method is best to avoid import duties/tax?
Direct or consolidate?

Just an update from my first experience with taobao direct shipment. It just took me 8 days to arrive. Quite impressive!

Not an expert for this but it looks likes dex or direct shipment is quite promising.

I've used both TGCS and EZBuy in the past before with items (electronics, bulky items) total more than RM1K worth in one shipment but so far no tax/ duties imposed. So, i guess depends on luck? or perhaps depends on the items that you purchase and whether it it is imposed for duties. There is a link the Royal Malaysia Customs website state all the items that is imposed for duty and the %. Have to go search.

Do you mind to share which TGCS provider that you used for one shipment with value more than 1k?

Sorry I used TGDS 淘宝直送 Taobao Global Direct Shipping , that means I didn't select the provider at that time. Shipment fees is automatically calculated if i choose that option. Now I realize that you can only choose Consolidated shipping 淘宝集运 Global Consolidate and Shipping when you checkout. And depends on the link you click, you can still sometimes choose TGDS. The system is getting dumb-er.

But the shipping company at that time was Skynet. So far never failed me. I tried Lazada air recently but I think will still prefer Skynet if not for the cheaper shipment. Skynet's tracking seems to be more superb. The tracking number 国际配送单号 showed in taobao can always be track through skynet malaysia tracking system after clearance of Malaysia custom. Lazada Air GDEX sometimes seems to fails me with their "ODBC error".

There was 1 week back then when customs had a strict customs check, but that was it.
My parcel unfortunately was delivered during that time and I had to pay rm100 for release
It should be ok now, you can consider other agent like yeslogistics

how was the yeslogistic experience so far? in sense of customer service and pricing since some agents love to play with the good dimension to earn some extra bucks.

They're excellent, my only complain is that they don't work on weekends like taobao official consolidate

For alipay, you need to register with China bank account/ credit card then only can refund to you.

Do you guys recomended to use Taobao Global Direct Shipping or l Consolidate shipping if buying 2 pair of shoes?

both should be good if you could have some words with the seller to snap a photo of your shoes before ship out as im afraid you may get a wrong pairs
