Just to share my experience using Taobao Global Consolidate Shipping. Few months ago, I purchased a total of 8 items amounting RM 309 (item cost + shipping). To summarize:
1. Total cost = RM309. 8 items worth = RM 164, Shipping = RM 145. Total weight = 9.31 KG
2. The good thing was the shipping was fast for me (ABX shipping). From China to warehouse, from warehouse to Malaysia took about a week plus to arrive. Definitely faster than my aliexpress and ebay experiences (they took 2 weeks to months to arrive).
3. Consolidate shipping means they consolidate the items and calculate each of their weights/ volumetric weights. I had 8 items and totaled up to 9.31kg. I initially thought they would group all the items together, repackage it and then remeasure the weight/ volumetric weight, but that's not correct. When I received the item, it was repackaged inside a big gunny sack about 1Meter square in size (1mx1mx1m). So, they actually tape the goods together and just chuck inside the bag for "consolidate shipping". Good thing is I didn't have any fragile items.
4. The items which cost the most was the 5 meter vacuum cleaner hose. The item cost only RM 21.68, but the shipping cost itself is RM 96.72 because of the volumetric weight calculation - 6.21kg (actual weight was about 2-3KG). doh.gif But, I figured that the price in Malaysia would have been cost much more since Karcher is already charging me RM 100 for 1 meter hose, so I decided to go with the purchase anyway.
5. For me, the only frustration is the weight/ volumetric weight because the sellers do not display them. You have to contact seller to confirm on it. And they can only converse in Mandarin. So I did chat with one of them since I know a little bit of mandarin. But I still relied a lot of Google Translate.
6. Wouldn't say it is a bad experience because if I bought these items Malaysia, it would have cost so much more! Though, I have never used any agent (EZbuy, yes logistics) before and wanted to try getting directly from Taobao itself. But I do intend to use agent in my next taobao purchases. Hopefully some can share which of the services offers the best in terms of shipping rate, etc.

Sounds like rmb32 is total shipping cost for all 9kg shipment, not 1st kg
That's the thing about tgds, it only estimates your item.
I've bought item that weights around >4kg and only cost 32 yuan.
Btw, you need to select TGDS first and it will list the estimated shipping cost at the bottom of checkout.
*
For mine. I did consolidated shipping. The shipping company consolidate all the items in the warehouse from all the sellers. Calculate each and every items weight/ volume. And then total the weight. Even though it was repackaged in a gunny bag (it's only about 4-5kg), but the shipping company calculated each individual weight/volume to total up 9kg.

>4kg for 32 yuan? Hmmm... How is that possible?

can u share the taobao link for the karcher hose?
and where do u ask for quote (karcher hose) locally?
thanks
*
It is not a karcher branded hose. Just a generic vacuum hose with the same width and diameter of my current Karcher Bees hose. Had to do some DIY to fit in the new hose but its not that difficult

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Sep 8 2016, 02:19 PM)
my understanding is...the shipping company will measure both actual weight and volumetric weight...and charge upon whichever is higher weight
correct me if i am wrong...if that's true then bigger box but light weight will charge you more on shipping fee
*
Yes. So for my items, it was bulky. I would have used agents to do my shipping if I had known they were cheaper.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Sep 8 2016, 01:36 PM)
Like i said, it works purely based on estimation.
And depending on your item and quantity too.
Sometimes it does over estimate shipping cost, so it really helps when can get your item's weight/volume info and compare both shipping method cost.
*
Yes, some items does not estimate shipping cost first until it goes to the shipping company. It would have been better if they could have just calculate the volumetric weight of the gunny bag itself instead of totaling up each of the weight/ volume.

Anyone tried using taobao direct after buying sensitive item? Isit better using agent to buy sensitive item?
*
bump. I'm also curious to know.. I want to buy CCTV sets from taobao directly. I wonder whether they will charge extra for sensitive items? Ezbuy charges RM10 for 500g. not sure about other agents.

So far no extra charges for me, same rate as always on tgds or consolidate. Bought some hikvision and xiaomi camera.
Which brand do you plan to buy?
*
I recently bought two Ezviz through ezbuy on 11.11. As of now, the item have yet to leave EZBUY's warehouse =.=.

And as for EZVIZ, they say it is made by Hikvision. So wanted to try getting two IP camera and see how it works. If it is good to use, then I am planning to get a few more and wireless DVR to record. But I am not sure whether it is any better of other brands.

Which hikvision model you got? Wireless or POE?

I bought the C2C version which is for outdoor. I saw the C6H also but I was looking something for outdoor.

I was considering wireless hikvision, but then i realized might as well get POE ones since you still need power cable to connect.
Instead of finding nearest power outlet for each camera, i can just use a single poe adapter to power all cameras.
But my concern now is how to protect from lightning haha, obviously not a problem for wifi cameras.

I bought this multilanguage 4mp dome type, max resolution can go to 2560 pixels

http://h5.m.taobao.com/awp/core/detail.htm...545&toSite=main

Wanted to get just 1080p with 2mp/3mp sensor, but since price difference not much, i just go for 4mp ones.

Which wireless NVR model do you plan to get?
*
That looks pretty bad ass. Confirm can see HD super clear! For wireless, I hope that I don't have to pull too many wires in the house and now days we have wireless technology. So I was thinking to try wireless one. How did get items into Prime? I want some of my wishlist to be on prime as well.

in what way is not supported? i suppose i bought the china version since it didn't state otherwise
*
Refer to this forumer's response. According to the response, still possible to use but will black out and brick. But I am not 100% sure what that means. May be it won't be the "full function"? I don't know. I am trying to understand as well.

Any forumers outside using ezviz ipcam can enlighten?

i think he's referring to remote viewing using ezyviz DNS server; maybe we can set it to use a different DNS server?

as long as it can connect to our home router, then should be ok
*
Hmmm. I hope so that's possible though. How can we confirm? Or maybe how to flash the firmware?

You can try IVMS 4500, might need manual configuration and some dns setup.
*
I am hoping by using IVMS 4500 might work though. Not sure about the registration part to use the device.

I've tried ezviz with my hikvision multilanguage nvr, and ezviz website just keeps poping up errors about device not compatible so I ended up using ivms app.
I've asked senior hikvision user who have used both english and china version and he just use ivms to view/manage the cameras.
Still I'm curious about how ptz cameras would work with ivms
*
When you mean ezviz means the ezviz app connecting to your nvr? The camera you used is ezviz camera or Hikvision camera? Perhaps I should just get a hikvision camera to be safer instead rather than a ezviz camera?

which NVR model did you get? is it possible to use a PC as NVR?
*
hey bro, you received your item yet? I already request ezbuy to cancel since they have just receive the item in the warehouse.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Nov 23 2016, 04:31 PM)
Pc is most basic one as nvr, got ivms software for that
Most people would probably go for nvr to save electric bill
Mine is the DS-7108-SN, 8 channel 1080p recording
Good for cameras with 1-3mp sensors, anything above 4mp you won't be able to configure/view substream channel
*
how does NVR work? does it require any hikvision account? or just plug and play? for the mobile app, you used IVMS4500 and not original hikvision app?

送关should means that the item is at the Malyasia Customs. Depends on our customs efficiency to see how long it will get cleared. Based on my experience it may take from less than a day up to 5 working days depending on your luck or their work load.

Have anyone received money through Ali Pay direct transfer ? Recently I bought an item from Taobao, found defect after confirming receive. But seller agreed to pay me back through alipay.

I now see the money in Alipay, but i don't know how to accept them. Anybody got experience in this?

anyone tried lazada 空运 before? Is there any other way I can track in malaysia website on the status? For example, if use skynet shipping right, you can track from skynet website itself.
