Currently just using the X62 out of the box. Should i reapply new thermal paste? i still have my thermal grizzly kryonaut.

no diff unless its delided

got a 8700k running at 5.1ghz offset 2 @ 1.236v... on a x62 with no AC. delided. below 80c on load.

5.2ghz or 5ghz offset zero required AC to bring it down below 80c

my x62 radiator fan max speed is about 1.1k rpm only based on CAM. I have extra fan and would it help to reduce the temp if i change nzxt stock fan with noctua 14cm 3000rpm fan for the radiator?

Hi.
Got stock i7 8700k with scythe ashura (perform like 212 from cm).

Wonder if: 70-75 gaming 80-82 cinebench is ok for room temp w/o aircond.
And one more thing is that with side panel off: everything drop by 4-5 degree cel. Is this cause by inadaquete airflow? Im running 2 front in 2 top out 1 back out. Might swap out front intake FNv2 120mm to corsair ML140 @@ will this help with the temp?

And if i plan to undevolt (until i can afford better cpu cooler): should i use fixed or offset? read on net that offset means it’ll undervolt as well at idle. Harder to get stability while fixed runs at that voltage all the time, am I correct?

Those temperatures are quite normal for a stock 8700K running on air cooling.
The chip will throttle at 100C and that's the temp limit (TJmax).
Also, 90C during a stress test (Prime95, IBT, Realbench, OCCT, etc) is fine.
Delid it if you're looking for 10-15C improvement in temps and you don't mind losing the warranty.

On your second question, I also think that the 4-5C might be caused by inadequate airflow. Like your suggestion, you may try swap with a better fan to see if got any improvement. Might as well upgrade your cooling solution to a better air cooler or AIO cooler.

For some reason, offset didn't work for me. I've been using fixed voltage all the time. vCore will fluctuate on load/idle according to Load-line Calibration (LLC) in your BIOS settings.

Noctua NH-D15S of course, world's best air cooler.
But make sure that it can fit inside your case because it's really huge. biggrin.gif

No ala-carte.
FYI, out of the box the NH-D15S comes with one single NF-A15 PWM fan.
The cheaper option is to buy a used unit.
Resell the original beige/brown fan as it is valuable for someone who needs it. thumbup.gif

I think not many people buying D15S or even D15 due to its bulky size (compatibility issue) and appearance.
That's why you hardly see any used unit for sale. biggrin.gif

Malaysia Day benching with ROG Maximus X Formula. biggrin.gif
Finally I'm able to get my 4x8GB TridentZ RGB (B-die) passed HCl Memtest 300% (~ 4 hours) at DDR4-4400 CL19-19-19-39-2T at 1.50v after relaxing all the tRDWR subtimings to 19 from ASUS's default of 16.

You mean tREFI 65535 or what value are you suggesting? For now, I'm running at default of 7.8µs, so 2200*7.8= 17160. I didn't tweak anything other than those tRDWR subs = tRAS = 19, then only I'm able to achieve stability at 19-19-19-39-2T from 19-21-21-39-2T @ 1.45v.

From my previous testing, I found that 1T is performing slower than 2T (confirmed by Raja) so I don't bother testing 1T ever since.

btw, fuhh I just realized that G.Skill also has a tighter DDR4-4400 (F4-4400C18D-16GTZR) kit listed on their website: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-4400c18d-16gtzr
Rated at 1.40v, definitely better binned than my kit and/or that non-RGB DDR4-3600 C15 kit.

370 Euro for 2x8GB: https://www.memoryc.com/24618-16gb-g-skill-...intel-z270.html

Could be the same bin as yours or better.
I'm now testing 4400 at 1.45v, seems stable so far at HCl 100% but I aim for 1000%.
