Hi guys.
1) Is it better to use one step colder spark plug on Preve turbo?
I've watched many Youtube explaining NGK spark plug heat range and it makes me wonder. Proton use NGK ILKAR7G7 which means heat range 7 according to NGK chart. And with the release of Civic turbo, they are using ILZKAR8H8S, which means heat range 8, correct?
For NGK, the higher the number, the colder heat range it will be. Youtube is saying boosted car is better with colder heat spark plugs. I know our Preve is not running high compression like Civic, but there are already sellers out there selling upgraded turbo for Preve. And my car has already been remapped.
Youtube also say if the spark plug heat range is too cold for your engine, it will accumulate carbon deposit and looking a bit wet.
Anybody tried to upstep their spark plug heat range? Is there any improvement however small? I saw a seller on Shopee recommends upstepping the spark plug heat range for Preve
2) What is the best ignition coil for turbo Preve anyway?
My car sometimes misfired or "running on 3 cylinders" according to a foreman. I found the culprit, I think... it's the coil boot. One of it got ripped. Probably those SC technicians didn't unplug it properly (I never service my car outside of SC, until now). My foreman said it can still be use, he just wrapped it with a black tape, but still my car has difficulty to start sometimes. Although I didn't noticed any misfiring while driving anymore, sometimes it felt like there's a power lag from when you request it from the throttle. I understand you can just replace the coil boot, but since my car is already 9 years old, I decided to change all four.
I have also asked some shops and people, they do not recommend using K20 coil without changing ECU whether stand alone or piggyback. Stock ECU does not make use of the third terminal on K20 socket. So there will be no improvements.
Surveyed those aftermarket ignition coil like Napol for example, I just don't have confidence on their reliability

some said it works, some said it didn't last.
I saw some people use part number PW812018, some use part number PW812712. I decided to check NGK website (since they supply Preve spark plug) and they recommend PW911283 but all online sellers said this is for Proton Iriz, new Persona and Saga
What is going on here?
