Great, will explore further and then will contact my agent to stop my auto-debit since OCBC GE has no more benefits for me. Then, I can cancel another useless card. laugh.gif

Hi all,
Any recommendations for credit cards for pensioners? I recommended MBB 2 Cards to my friend who's a pensioner but MBB staff says it's difficult for pensioners to get credit cards.
Her gross monthly pension: RM3.2k. Net is RM2.5k.
Do banks consider gross or net monthly income to qualify for a credit card?

Pension money can be considered as income or not I don't know.
For salaried employees, they consider gross income.

ge now has an online portal to make premium payment for customers?

all i know is they do have online portal, but only to review policy details and gst tax invoice download (for those who need to make claims).

other than that, nothing about premium payment though.

Will it be difficult for fresh graduates to apply credit cards nowadays with just 3 months latest payslip? But from what I heard, might requires 6 months of latest payslip for fresh graduates due to not having any debt history for references.

Besides, after browse through the thread and I'm thinking for getting Maybank 2 Card or CIMB CR for outstation work such as petrol (Shell) and hotel bills which claimable from the company. Any comments on this matter?

Wanna get recommendation on getting a cash back cc for petrol of between rm200 to rm450 a mth at any brand of petrol station and anywhere, cash back rate at least 5%

According to my research, Citibank platinum cash back card wud meet my needs but I nd to apply for support card as the petrol spending is at family level. I m ready to cancel the card if af is not waived for principal and supp card after a year of usage.

Reason for not getting maybank vs is to leave it for d next yr if I ever cancel Citibank platinum cb card. Another promo cc wud b aeon cc which offers 5% cb on petrol until 15 Nov 2016.

Not using scb just one plat bcoz effective rate is only 3.4%. Not interested in uob one card bcoz it is 2% weekday n 5% weekend.

Pls kindly confirm or advise a better cb cc for my petrol if members here have better suggestion that cn meet my requirements.

since you didnt specify preference to particular pump days, then...

MBB Ikhwan Mastercard @ 5% Fri/Sat
MBB Ikhwan Visa Petronas (effective 1 Nov, 8% on weekends at Petronas only. announcement here, full T&Cs not yet updated since mbb revised the features from 8X TP to 8% cashback)

Thanks for the info. My pensioner friend got her Maybank 2 cards application approved. It turned out she's a premier customer of the bank biggrin.gif
The Maybank staff who at first told her that it's hard for pensioners to get credit cards keeps calling her now to invest in their products doh.gif

Thank you for you recommendation. I didnt specify the brand because my family members pump their petrol at their own convenient time (this means any time in the week and no just restricted to weekend) and the brand they preferred, which includes Shell, Petron, Petronas. Hence I do not want to get a specific card for certain brand only and do not want a specific card for certain days only, looking for a more generic one.

As such MBB Ikhwan although is a great card with high CB and most importantly, free AF, I could not consider that due to the "diversified" brand and the need to pump petrol at any day of the week. :/

I double confirm we cant because after I finally have access to GE online, there is no option to pay online.

2 alternative below (depending on your insurance amount also):-

a) Charge the insurance to Aeon/Aeon Big cc and pay via PosOnline with online cb cc.

b) If the amount (one off) is around RM2,500, charge to SCB Just One Platinum to get RM85 for that month.

1. Annual Income: RM24K to RM30K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: Cashback/points

4. Existing credit cards if any: CIMB petronas platinum

5. Looking at CC from: PBB

6. Others: Nil

Would it be easier to get your credit card approved from a bank if you already have an existing savings account with them? Got rejected by Hong Leong, and was wondering about PBB since I have an account with them for few years now.

CIMB was quite easy to apply back then because I could just apply through Clicks with my savings account.

Yes, usually will be easier if that's your salary crediting bank.
Well, you didn't mention any category, so you can also add CIMB Cash Rebate into your list.

I'm looking for a card that does not share credit limits with my CIMB petronas plat though, so I am guessing CIMB cashback wouldn't work for me?
