1. Annual Income: RM30K to RM36K.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must.

3. Card required for: Petrol, Dining, Groceries, Utilities, Online Shopping

4. Existing credit cards if any: PB Visa Gold Credit Card.

5. Looking at CC from: Nil

6. Others: I want cash back only and no reward points.
*
Maybank Ikhwan, CIMB CR and HLB MACH.
However your income is below 36k, so you can only have two issuing banks' cards, so just choose accordingly.

CIMB CR - Also covers groceries and petrol but at a lower rebate (2%) compared to online (5%).
More all-rounder card, unless heavy spending on a specific category.

Thank you Bro for the recommendations and detail explanation.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

AEON Watami, you are right!!! Above RM1K average per month up to RM1667 average per month.

OCBC GE 1% for less than RM1K  thumbup.gif Going to promote this FREE FOR LIFE card, haha.

SCB a bit tricky like you mentioned because of monthly cap:

Spend between RM500 tp 800 cap is RM10/month!
Spend between 800 to RM1500, cap is RM20/month
Spend above 1500, cap is RM50/month.

So if one spend between RM1000 to RM1500 per month, easier to just go with AEON Watami where we get guaranteed 3% cash back PLUS points.

Say a person spends RM700 per month. RM700 x 2% = RM14. But cap RM10. Therefore cash back = 1.42% which is pretty good.

Per year = RM 120 cash back. Annual RM185.50. Effective cash back with annual = NEGATIVE!!! This card no good if spend below RM800 unless annual fee waived.

Say a person have fix RM900 expenses per month. RM900 x 3 = RM30 But cap is RM25. Therefore % cash back = 2.77%, very good since more than 1%.

Total cash back per year = RM300.

Effective cash back = (Total Annual Cash Back - Annual Fee) / Total Annual Transaction =  (RM300 - RM185.50)/ RM10,800 = 1.06%  thumbup.gif

Sifu Devil4life, you're my hero  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif SCB Gold Card really good for RM800 to RM1K if the annual fee can be waived yearly. I am sure everyone would be happy to go beg for annual fee since get increase the cash back more than 100%!!! If not, use 1 year and then cancel the card smile.gif

Side note, I called SCB CS, boy they are like HSBC, I got to press this and that before I get to talk to a human being. Anyway, the SCB CS confirmed first year annual fee waived tfor the gold card and second year annual fee will be imposed but can request for waiver.

This is a rare card.

Even if you meet requirement, does not mean they'll approve you laugh.gif

I'd go for UOB and CIMB for less fuss.

Hi there. I'm currently looking for a 2nd credit card for other benefits/promotions from other banks

1. Annual Income: RM36K - RM40K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate Only, Dining, Retail & Online Shopping

4. Existing credit cards if any: Currently using UOB One Card

5. Looking at CC from: Citibank / Maybank / CIMB / any other banks also can be considerable

6. Others: I want cash back only. I don't know whether the reward points can bring any benefits because I'm not so clear about. I hope someone can explain about it.

uob one will be covering your petrol already. so you need a combination of cc to cover your dining, retail, and online.
for dining, you may go for hlb mach (5% everyday) and/or mbb2amex (5% weekends only + 5xtp).
for online, you may go for uob vox 5% or cimb cr 5%.
for normal retail, you may go for mbb2amex 5xtp or aeon watami 3%.

The answer is no, unfortunately. You have to mix and match from different cards to get the same thing with M2Cards AmEx. smile.gif

The nearest is probably Aeon Watami, 3% every quarter with minimum spending of RM 3k per quarter. All spending except for petrol are entitled.

Any good cash back card for insurance? Currently 3k half yearly. Looking at Aeon Watami (purely for insurance only), but need to swipe 12 times to waive the AF. Any alternative?
