Nvidia is planning to lock down "Game-Ready" drivers to GFE sometime in mid-December. You will need a verified email add + install GFE and have it running compulsory to get driver updates.
Screw off nvidia. Go dai in a pit wet shit fire plis. #goingtoAMD This post has been edited by SSJBen: Oct 16 2015, 12:50 PM |

Hurm, I dont know people find this annoying. Maybe they want hassle free. Im not on any any side and if they can provide the highest FPS and stable driver I will choose them. And for now it's green team lots of protests around - i hope they reconsider this or i'll be moving to AMD next from my current GTX680. |

Free or not, like I said, it's about choice. For me personally, I just don't like unnecessary bloatware. Guess what? GFE is an unnecessary piece of software. EDIT: but you have to look from the other side though, Nvidia's optimisation would meant easier for people to set graphical settings, esp those mainstream ones who wants something like a console experience. where they just want to game, not tweak around though, tweaking around is enjoyable too. i enjoy it as much as playing the game This post has been edited by marfccy: Oct 18 2015, 03:20 AM |

Which is why GFE should be entirely optional and those who has a use for it, then that'd be great. I mean, like I said, I don't use shadowplay, I don't care about pre-set settings because I like to do my own stuff and you know, Nvidia's game ready drivers this year has been pretty shitty to say the least of which I'd like to cherry pick the best set and go from there. |

I dont like things to set it up for me. Every enthusiasts knows this, for newbies it might be alright but forcing everyone to do it? Bad move nvidia. But why must it be forced upon everyone? I find it funny that someone just simply said 'everyone got an email' regarding the email subscription. Its simply missing the point Anyhow whatever stupid things nvidia do, someone will put the downloaded driver from GFE and uploaded it online, with modded INF to support every card to date so its a non issue. |

Yeah. It's just another extra time-wasting step now to first extract each new driver available from GFE. GFE took forever to launch when I click it from taskbar, keep getting "not responding" message, have to wait for at least 30 seconds to launch the UI, and then click the tab will have to wait again for it to respond. So much freeze
Is this same for you all or just me? |

Manual install/update still my preferred choice. |

Currently GFE downloads the driver exe same as what you download from Geforce.com website. You can see all the drivers downloaded from GFE here: C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NetService Like Najmod said, you can probably get the driver from other reliable 3rd party source such as Techpowerup or Guru3D since they have been hosting the driver for quite a while now.. |
