I am actually curious if there's any AIB ever going to come out with extra huge VRAM (12GB) version of 980TI just like what they being doing previously. It shouldn't be much of a PCB design problem since they can simply mimic that of TitanX.

QUOTE(crash123 @ Jul 9 2015, 04:38 PM) ooo..i think u want non reference cooler..my bad..take asus strix or msi g1 gaming..i think both are custom pcb..price around 3.3-3.4k Techpowerup questioned MSI's configuration of going dual 8 pins but didn't really tweak the power limit of the card. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX..._Gaming/28.htmlThis post has been edited by Human10: Jul 10 2015, 12:07 AM

QUOTE(marfccy @ Jul 11 2015, 04:56 PM) DDR4 isnt much different than DDR3 beside the obvious higher clock speed same goes for power efficiency. Devil's Canyon still has 95W TDP but just lower idles, nothing much. Skylake reported to come with 65W, but well have to wait for full Broadwell 14nm first before speculating on Skylake theres somewhat not much reason to upgrade, CPU side wise im on Sandy as well, and im on the fence on upgrading at all Ideal has put Intel i7 5775C on their pricelist btw, whooping ~RM1.4kdo want, but dem its expensive I find it ridiculous. The price almost on par with 5820k already... It will be one of the most rare CPU in the market in future. Skylake is around the corner, it will only be useful for those who readily had H97/Z97 mobo. But again high chances are those people already had Haswell (refresh) CPU and won't consider upgrading anytime soon. Now with this insane price, not much new end consumers will opt for them. There's also news that OEMs will skip Broadwell and directly to Skylake. So in short, it will be one rare "pokemon".

QUOTE(marfccy @ Jul 11 2015, 06:18 PM) yeah, its one of those odd releases that doesnt seem to have anywhere to fit in its suffering from the "<Insert nex gen> is near, wait it out longer" syndrome on the bright side of going consumer than Extreme series, you save alot from not getting LGA2011 board Skylake at least had the decency to support DDR3L instead of pure DDR4 But hey, cheapest LGA2011V3 is a Hexacores, while the 1.4k i7 is still a Quadcores. Mobo wise, LGA2012V3 is expect to last at least another year, while H97/Z97 pretty much EOL by this year end. If you are rich enough to invest on high end i7 (consumer) and Z97, the Haswell-E combination is just marginally pricier while significantly more "future proof" as compared to the consumer counterpart.

QUOTE(sheva78 @ Jul 16 2015, 01:52 PM) Guys, just bought a Noops branded displayport cable to use with my GTX 960 but all i'm getting is a screen with no input signal written on it. Am i doing something wrong or did i just bought a bad cable. Can you guys recommend me another brand for the displayport cable. One that doesn't cost to much preferably less than rm150. Currently using HDMI input. My monitor is AOC I2369VM if it helps. You sure the ports on both GPU and monitor are functional? You changed to the correct input on monitor? QUOTE(nettelim @ Jul 25 2015, 05:50 PM) planning to get gtx970 sli play some AAA games. (unity, witcher3, black ops3) but this card has 3.5gb and less future proof compare to amd cards. (getting higher resolution monitor and hope able to max out AA). should I wait for nvidia next generation card that replace gtx970? If you hadn't have a 970 or the mobo don't have good SLI support, I will always suggest single 980TI. The best 970 SLI can scale is just slightly better than 980TI, while having 2.5GB less effective VRAM. Price wise, they are pretty close together too.

QUOTE(eugene88 @ Jul 25 2015, 10:28 PM) Jump ship from AMD to Nvidia, now a lot of games are crashing at launch Used DDU to remove AMD and Nvidia drivers but doesn't fix the problem Any suggestions? Games? Drivers version? Honestly, Nvidia do release buggy drivers from time to time, install back older driver sometimes more stable and better performance.

QUOTE(eugene88 @ Jul 25 2015, 11:00 PM) Hmm, seriously no idea, driver should be fine and the card had being around for such long time, hadn't heard such problem for the particular card. The worst is try on a clean copy of windows + drivers. This post has been edited by Human10: Jul 25 2015, 11:06 PM

QUOTE(SheepMekk @ Jul 26 2015, 04:55 PM) Hey all, any of you guys with 980ti have any idea of your fan speeds? Mine doesn't even turn on at 60C regulating fan speeds with afterburner at the mean time. The idle fanless mode had being around with some models of GPU by Asus, MSI, EVGA and may be more since the release of 970/980. Nothing much to worry about, its just manufacturers are confident with the passive cooling of the heatsink and tweaked the VBios to so. You can manually flash a custom vbios to fix your own fan profile. But again afterburner is the safer mode since they only deal with software instead of bios.

QUOTE(crash123 @ Sep 4 2015, 11:08 PM) Sad, need to sell my 980ti after all new game use Directx 12 I guess it won't be anytime sooner than 3 years. By then, 980TI's performance probably just on par with the xx50 or xx60 series, LOL.

QUOTE(crash123 @ Sep 9 2015, 06:31 PM) 4gb is the new minimum for 1080p But with the performance of 960, you probably will be suffer from low unplayable FPS before you able to utilise the 4GB fully, LOL. Even my 970 is short in raw power to drive settings over 3GB VRAM. I welcome big VRAM for 2 cases, mods and multicards. Else it's like paying extra for something you don't know when have the chance to be used. This post has been edited by Human10: Sep 9 2015, 06:44 PM

QUOTE(crash123 @ Oct 17 2015, 07:56 PM) Hurm, no offence but I dont find GFE+verified email is bad thing. Already use GFE for 6 month, never crash. Email?I thing everyone have that Anything unnecessarily mandatory = bad. Also, got once or twice, the auto driver update by GFE caused my system to go haywire. Manual install/update still my preferred choice.
