Yeah I knew that one.. I was tracking 1/2 way that road from Ringlet trying to goto Sg koyah way back in 2007 too but stopped 1/2 way after Bertam valley Village..road condition very bad..not for my sedan car.. blush.gif So during my long journey to visit Gua Musang for the 1st time instead using this bypass I chicken out bcos I knew the condition closer to Bertam valley..Anyway, the road has since been tracked by one of Malsingmaps member way back in early 2008 7 updated thereafter in both malsingmaps & MFM.. rclxms.gif

Yet still no one feedback since then whether the last portion of the road between Bernam Valley & kg Susu/ Kg manso still accessible by sedan cars??

Actually there is a highway linking Ringlet in C.Highlands to Gap near Frasers Hill. The trip took less than 80 minutes. Part of the road was not laid yet but accessible with 4WDs. The last time they did the trip was 2 years ago and I still do not know the status of the highway. The broken length was not long as they said. The road near Bertam Valley is ready for the opening. It is a long delayed project and I think it should be ready. A lot of Cameronians are going to become poorer once it is ready because they say trip to Genting HIghlands is just over 2 hours.

Oh OK.. If the one near equatorial ..it's palas..Yeah the road there is the narrowest of all.. good for 1.5 cars at certain location,, U need to give way..During Holiday...that's the worst road u can think off...Who gonna give way?? Condition till Palas is good except the narrow road..Going up To brinchang pretty bad esp near to the workers quarters
*
I did a day trip to Sg Palas today .. went into a ditch while reversing to give away to a bus full with Europeans .. good thing, they're such a good samaritans .. helped my 4x4 out of the ditch in no time... be careful when driving in to Sg Palas .. and use common sense .. if you think it is easier for you to give a way or to reverse, do it ..

During my paid Hike in search for Rafflesia (lojing, Gua musang0, the 4WD also almost stucked in the super thick logging road...Lucky at very last momenet the driver manage to pull-out..if not manti mud liao..

I was looking at Google Maps trying to see which road you meant, and noticed one that may be what you are referring to. Is this a road from Ringlet to Sg Koyan that uses C156 (as labeled in Google Maps), where the unconnected portion is the road you meant?

Op[ss Overlooked earlier.. blush.gif Yeah that's the road from Sg Koyan >Kg Susu>Kg Manson>Bertam Valley & Ringlet i'm talking about. Google maps stopped somewhere ~ kg Susu as you posted. According to malsingmaps V3.09, The road from Kg Susu to about 5KM b4 bertam Valley (That's where I stopped & patah Balik in 2007) is still unpaved. Well I'm not sure about the status right now because in Malfreeemaps it's a paved road ..confusing.. rclxub.gif

Here's malsingmaps screen cap of that unpaved section:

BTW, If u want to save cost & go on your own & hire the orang asli ppl as your guide beside the entrance at Lojing Gua musang. I have also tracked the 4WD route till the trail head (~2km) & thereafter another 2KM hiking trip thru bamboo forest, jungles & few river crossings & 2 waterfalls b4 reaching the rafflesia site at Lojing Gua Musang.

The actual entrance is beside a Temiang orang asli settlement here: N4 39.744 E101 29.330 & the tracklogs that has since updated into malfreemaps here:

I haven't stay there b4 so no comment. On the major attractions, Kang's actually located at Tanah Rata town. but CH is very big.. from Ringlet (the starting point of CH till Blue Valley, it's almost 40km distance. Even the distance from Tanah Rata to the Rafflesia site which is actually at Gua musang is ~ 40km away!

Oh.. that looks interesting. Do you think the road is passable for novice 4x4 drivers? ie, city drivers with no experience in hard-core off-roading.

Try Michael = 012 5066070. He drives a Kancil with flyers stuck on his windscreen. Also bargain with him.
