Juz gt bac after 4d3n up there. Stay in Cameronian Inn... n 90% of the guest is Mat-Saleh.
Drive in Sg Palas Boh Tea Plantation in the early morning! Cool and chilling... took some special picture while av1 watching us! Using Simpang Pulai, very nice view and i m feel its shorter compare to snake turning via Tapah. We even bring our gastove to cook steamboat upthere. Coz previous experience, feeling like being chopped by them!

Driving up will be better coz more place to go! Juz found out recently inside Jln Jasar, Tanah rata, there's a shop inside feel with cheese aroma. Best Strawberry Cheese cake i ever try in Cameron! And its only RM4.00. And mores... brows.gif

Actually went up to find some local frens ^^ cant imagine the place is quite develop compare to my last visit last year!

Hi... Need some opinion on what would be the suitable time to spend in CH to thoroughly enjoy all the main attractions? 2D1N or 3D2N?

Will 2D1N be a bit too rushing?
*
prefer 3d2n... coz 2 d will seems bit rush n not much to enjoy!

I hv not try this steamboat but I already boycott all those restaurants at brinchang liao...Not worth the price.....RM16.90 is not cheap hor...more expensensive than KL!! & during Holiday, they san simply mark-up wan!!

You can get reasonable priced steamboat & better tasted at Tanah Rata..only RM13/head.
*
agreed! Well, why dont lent/get a portable gas stove, get some cheap bowl from Tesco Kampar/ anywhere nearer... n get some fishball/meatballs and stuff, quite cheap if can get around RM4.50 (all in one steamboat stuff mini packs) get in indian mart in Brinchang.

1 pot of Heong Pean Chinese tea RM11

RM11 really chop!!!

May be I can recommend u some place good for steamboat at least price they state properly and rasonable la.
This restaurant was intro by local friends...

RM17 per head for the steamboat selection of different soup.
The restaurant at Butterfly Farm, the restaurant name: Jin2 Steamboat. 1st Butterfly Park after you reach Kea Farm, assuming u coming up from Brinchang Direction. The steamboat shop is own by the butterfly farm owner as well. Ohya... Non-Halal Shop!

Price reasonable la...
I tried last few days ago...
RM 17.00 per pax for steamboat (Ying Yong - Dual Soup - Herbal Soup and Tom Yam)
RM 0.30 per cup of chinese tea (hot)
RM 0.50 per cup of chinese tea (cold)
RM 3.50 per cup of hot honey lemon tea.

The price is listed properly in the menu d , so no nid afraid kene chop or overcharge!
And the taste overall compare to dine in Brinchang for Steamboat, I'll definitely choose here!

i allready went 3 times to sg palas tea centre.......so i wanna try habu......before this i allways stay equatorial, thats why go sg palas......but this time staying heritage.......from gps the milage is about the same but afraid will take longer time to reach sg palas coz have to drive thru kea farm that is always jem.......

is 8/2 still consider CNY holiday....?
*
Yup it is always jam and the road was pretty bad...

Well, Sg Palas Tea Plantation, their tea which is nice i m guess must be Bukit Chetang Tea (Strong aroma).
In Habu, the Cameron Valley Tea Plantation, I like their "Masala Tea" (something like teh tarik but with indian spices) ... There are 2 stops, direction from Ringlet town, the first one is the smaller n old one, the upper one hav wider space, more parking.

Casual Driving (3 April 2011)

This section took me bout 45minutes.
Well, the road from Pos Betau to Bertam valley, the road is fine except few spots which have some minor slide, but no worry, there's are cones and road sign along the way. You will be "tempted" to speed but always bear in mind, be safe rather than sorry later! There's one major landslide where it covers the whole road, but they make a bypass to it already. My last visit last month, they even apply tar road to it compare to my previous visit, stony/rocky road. But my wira can go over it with stony rocky road, i think any vehicles shouldn't be any problem. From Pos Betau to Bertam Valley, there's is totally no signal at all, I had tried Celcom, Digi, Maxis, totally no service at that time, now not sure. Once you reach Kampung Me or Kampung S(according to 'possible' vandalise signboard), you should be able to get some signal, these are orang asli kampung, few km away from Pos Betau.

This section took me bout 1hour. (It could be more time if you following some lorries)
From Pos Betau to Raub, you pass by few felda such as Felda Tersang, the road is narrow and really straight. Prefer you travel the road before the nightfall. Because there's one time my car almost hit a bunch of sheep that crosiing the road in the palm oil plantation after Pos Betau near sungai koyan. There's a potential cow/sheep pass by too, so drive safe and watch out!

This section took me bout 25minutes.
From Raub to Bentong, road wise is much more better compare to Pos Betau to Raub. Although the road is pretty straight but there's small hole here and there.

This section took me bout 15minutes with not much jams.
Once you reach Bentong, usually a day before the working day start usually weekend or last of of holidays. It will be pretty jam up at the main street at Jalan Loke Yew, this is mainly due to the bottleneck at the bridge of Sungai Bentong. Once you pass that bridge, your journey should be smooth till you heads up to Karak - Kuala Lumpur Highway.

So roughly around 3hours for me to drive from KL to Cameron via Sg. Koyan road.
Petrol bout RM 35.00
Gombak Toll RM5.00
Bentong Toll RM3.00

Notice: Not sure the road launch/official release by the gov or not?! If not, better drive safe than sorry; if you get into accident in between Pos Betau to Bertam Valley road, insurance may not be valid. FYI, if I'm not mistaken, the road was actually show in some GPS maps (such as Ovi Nokia - Updated March 2011) already; so is it officially launch and open to be use or else? I'm not sure, maybe somebody here can clarify this.

The road was officially open by the Sultan of Pahang a few months ago so it is already a gazetted public road. Yes, insurance is covered and also summons can be issued too if traffic laws are not followed. laugh.gif

Been up to this lovely place on 25th this month, using Raub road...

Bumpy road as usual near to Bertam Valley... They "kill" off the side parking in Kea Farm, so where do the car parks now? Although it smoothen the traffic during peak season, but it just make people to hard to park their car, or park down or further up, bit inconvenience. sweat.gif

Visit my favorite Jin2 Steamboat at Butterfly Farm there, the steamboat not bad. Just RM17/pax. At least they didnt chop people like in the Brinchang town center. Try their Kiong See Fried Rice (Vampire Fried Rice) not bad, price if i m not mistaken is RM5.90/plate.

Been to many flower shop, cactus point, all sell plants and vase bit pricy. Plus it was raining that day, the temp there i m guess was about +/-18'C. Bit freezing especially your body is wet wet...

When I went there that day, they making a big bumper in d middle of the road ... facing the starbucks. They also eliminate side parking along the side of shop lots. Guess soon or later, they gonna implement the parking ticketing system.

Just some shopping tips:
- Please bargain, u may get such offer like me. Bought 19 batang jagung for RM10 only! In the end, bought 38 batang for RM20 and free 1/2 batang for instant fresh bite. Find a malay lady at 2rd/3th last shop towards Brinchang Town direction in Kea Farm.

- In Kea Farm, Cameron Orange usually sell RM7/kg or 5biji for RM10. Go for 5biji offer, coz 5biji its usually more than 1kg already.

- For their Cameron Apple (not Guava Apple) got two colors, one is light green another one is new species, purple color. The apple skin is not edible. RM7/kg in Kea Farm (you may get cheaper nearby Honey Bee Farm)

- In honey bee farm near to the road simpang to BOH Tea Plantation, along the side of the road there's many shop selling vege, fruits n so on. One of the shop situated inside the inner path along the street(dunno how to describe the location), towards right inner part, there's a shop selling RM5/kg for Light Green Non-Edible Skin Apple and RM7/kg for Purple Non-Edible Skin Apple.

- For Strawberries Plucking, try outside the entrance to Equotorial Hotel, RM20/500gram (bit pricy) but the straweberries are big and fresh ...

There's lots more to share... haha...
Well, I m guess the traffic Jam part always occur after Brinchang Town until Honey Bee Farm there...
Tata...

which day is not recommended to visit CH...?
as i know most of d shops or farms is closed on dat day...
thx...

I think is Monday... The Sg Palas Boh Tea Plantation is closed on that day. Some shops/stalls will even closed on that day. Unless that Monday is school/public day den different say la. Usually normal Monday, many shop are not open or even they open, not so much stock they sell. As per advised from cameronian ppl.

QUOTE(neoxz @ Jan 3 2012, 12:23 AM)
wanna ask sifus around.. will it be very jam to travel to cameron on CNY week? say on 27th this month?
*
Usually Jammed during school/public holidays and weekend.
Jam from Brinchang Town to Strawberry Park to Kea Farms! But I think now should be fine already as the district closing down side line parking in the kea farm heading from Brinchang Town.
