DFP. Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1.
Well, I guess it's understandable why people clapped since the 1st mvt itself is about 20 minutes long. rclxms.gif
It's a mixed scene anyway where most of the audience at the middle and front row didn't clap at all...  sweat.gif
*
Oh... is the piano played by Behzod Abduraimov with Sydney Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy?? shocking.gif
I guess those audience feel impressed by his skill, and forgot that the 2nd and 3rd movement haven't start... sweat.gif

I only go and listen to the Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, and he really blast me away... rclxms.gif
I can see that he play until the whole piano shaking... thumbup.gif

I'm really excited about the concert next week by London Symphony Orchestra with Daniel Harding as the conductor. Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No. 10!

Is anyone here into Opera?
*
Hmm... I don't know about that concert...
Where it held at?

Yea that one. Amazing pianist. rclxms.gif
Didn't notice any piano shaking but his facial expressions really impressive and energetic. thumbup.gif

Overall performance that night was great. SSO + Ashkenazy. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
They even performed with an extra piece from Elgar(?) after the Prokofiev's Symphony No.5. Not sure what piece is it.

Man... I wish I have a video recording of that night... cry.gif

You go for which night?

I just go for the Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 one. They encored with Dvorak's Slavonic Dance No. 2 (if I'm not mistaken).

The first night performance, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky & Prokofiev. Sorry for the confusion. laugh.gif

People interested in Beethoven should try and get their hands on this collection recorded by LSO.

Be careful not to be misled by that. Research suggested that listening to classical music would help boost your mind, but only for about 10 minutes after you listened to it.

I also believe that Shostakovich and Bartok's music won't help in boosting your mind. XD

I thought it will perform today and tomorrow?

I don't know what they will perform, but look at the description...

Three decades of great movie themes squeezed into 90 minutes! Grammy Award-winner Richard Kaufman, reminds us of the great themes which made such movies as Lawrence of Arabia, Spartacus, 633 Squadron and Star Wars so memorable on and off the big screen.

It was shown yesterday as well. nod.gif The description was quite brief, kinda curious what scores would they perform. All of my frens wouldnt wana go becoz of the unkown classic films.

Been to last year Oscar Symphony Ochestra show, only 2 to 3 well known classic films like:
The Godfather
To kill a Mocking Bird
The Untouchables
The Magnificient Seven

Other classic films were not so mainstream, anyone who been to the show, hope dont mind listin down the whole programme, just want a future reference what MPO geared towards its classic theme.

Wow there is a thread for classical music lovers in Malaysia! Surprise Surprise! And so many of you guys...

I'm very new to classical music, just about a coupled of years into it really. There are so much to learn and so much to appreciate! But I worked hard and managed to grab tones of collection by now, sadly though got no time to listen to most of them! dry.gif

i prefer early music, baroque to classical period music, whether it is instrumental, or with singing. But most like choral music!

Its Richard Strauss: Symphonie Alpestre, very nice one! Thanks for sharing bro!

Deutsche Grammophon pioneered the introduction of the compact disc to the mass market, debuting classical music performed by Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic for sale in the new medium (compact disc) in 1983, the first recording being Richard Strauss' Eine Alpensinfonie.
