Wow didn know there are classical music lovers here. I guess for modern classical composers I love Nobu Uematsu 植松伸夫 and Ryo Kunihiko 梁邦彦 for modern classical music.

For olden classics I love mozart, Johann Strauss and Tchaikovsky as you can see from my liking of olden classics I do not know much about classics.

BTW I read the 1st page of this thread asking bout the ending song that the gunslinger girls sang I believe that its acctually Ode Joy by Ludwig van Beethoven. I like that piece too.

i didnt watch gunslinger before, and this Ode to Joy is actually part of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, 4th mvt

even the Stephen Chow movie: Kung Fu also used this music before...
*
Yeah lar lots of movies like to use Beethoven mozart and Tchaikovsky 's pieces.

Just now I have went to KLCC Box Office and bought the ticket for 13rd of July

I fell surprise when the person that selling ticket said just got Upper circle D1-D5 left... other full... even the "Stalls" also full...

So, I guess, if you going to buy the ticket now, they probably will tell you it been sold out...
*
What show do they have on the 13th of july?

ya cant wait to watch it. i love chopin! hoping to gain experience by watching them playing. i mostly play chopin pieces but of coz i like listening to other composer's composition like mozart, rachmaninov, beethoven, schubert, liszt etc. but i mostly listen composition for piano and concerto only hehe. any good music intro? i seldom listen to symphony  tongue.gif
hey fuj ^^ i see, i oso will go watch, planning to participate the next one.  biggrin.gif maybe u can invite soulburner come oso and we can meet up?
*
How do you gain entrance to that asean international chopin piano competition? Can you give me more details on it like where and when it is held?

I guess if you like piano you should go for lang lang's performance next season in MPO since its all sold out now. sad.gif
Well you can still try for any cancellations.

BTW do you guys consider nobuo uematsu's(final fantasy 1-10 music composer) pieces as classical music? I guess this question include current day movie composition like John Williams and howard shore's pieces.

My friend said it is free admission, and no specific dress code......

I think I have post the official link for this competition in this thread before... sweat.gif
try look for it yourself (hint: it is in same page)

About the composer question...
A composer that have composed a Classical Music can consider as Classical Music composer, but it doesn't mean all his/her music is Classical
*
Ahh pardon my noobness here as I dare not click on the link as I was in the office. =_=

Yeah I get your point on the composer but Im still not sure what is the strict definition of classical since there are still so called classical pieces being composed in this era.

I think what you mean is Contemporary Classical......

Sometimes it confuse me too...... rclxub.gif

If you will be 21 for next ASEAN International Chopin Competition, then you have to participate the highest rank... that is above 21 category... like Concerto "C" or College
I also wondering will there enough seat for audience...... sweat.gif

Ya, Lang Lang's concert ticket is sold out on first day it start to sell to non-subscriber (25 Aug)...
My friend got the last ticket at Circle, and this is the first times he queue up to buy the ticket... sweat.gif
*
Is that blog you sent me from your friend? 1st time for me to know that they have to queue for a ticket in MPO sweat.gif

QUOTE(fiRst Empire @ Sep 4 2008, 02:58 PM)
ya it would not be easy, hope to learn a thing or two from those participants ^^

dono if anyone have already listen tis b4, its one of my favourite piano concerto from beethoven, soloist is the famous pianist zimerman  biggrin.gif

its very nice, here's the 1st movement

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfstcHZINYE

ps: i dont have much collections of classical music, mostly listen on youtube  : sad.gif  anyone know where can i get/dl classical music? or can send me any ?   tongue.gif
*
I hope I do get a seat for the Asean competition.

one think for classical music Im very choosy I do not get MP3 as I find there is something missing in the quality thats why I always look for concerts to go to, for pop and others mp3 is fine.

Ive got some if you want it but I just leeched it when I was in college and I only listen to 1 or 2 of it when I really feel like it. sweat.gif
