woh~
you make me want to have your msn aledi laugh.gif

btw, the Sergei Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2, i like the 1st mvt (Moderato) and 3rd mvt
Piano Concerto No.3 juz listen to 1 times only, cant give more comment

Verdi's music...
do you got his Requiem??
and about the CS song... dunno what song is that
but i juz know his "La donna e mobile" is a good and popular opera!! thumbup.gif
*
I like the 2nd movement of his Piano concerto 2 something about it, sound alot like a love theme don't you think?

haha About sergei's 3rd piano concerto the first movement is very nice !!
at first it starts off slowly but in the 8th minute its starts to sound very epic and nice (not sure how to put it just listen to it again) and than the climax comes on the 13th minute rclxms.gif

the 2nd movement is very melancholic at first with the first few minutes of orchestra and than when the piano solo comes in... and takes it away very nice piece not my fav tho..

the 3rd movement however is my second fav alongside the 1st movement this piece to me sound very "final" and goes out with a BANG at the end lol I'm no so good at describing

I don't have Verdi's Requiem tho I'll look it up later see if I can get,
About the CS song.. lol go play the cs_italy map join terrorist side biggrin.gif

Btw if you really want my msn, pm me and I'll send it to you wink.gif

Paganini Variation is from Caprice No. 24 that compose by Paganini
it is believe to be the most difficult violin work ever

Concerto played in A minor??
what concerto?? unsure.gif
*
Actually Brahm's paganini variations were exported to a piano concerto.

the one played in A-minor is his violin concerto. Paganini is hard, some of the caprices using the g string alone, but Tartini's Devil's Trill and the Adagio of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto are pretty great challenges too.

Anyways i has a short list of fiddlers to listen to if you like :

Jascha Heifetz : Perfect Technique bar none
David Oistrakh : Perfect Tonality and Emotion, never over or schmaltzy
Itzakh Perlman : Great Combination of Technique and Emotion
Yehudi Menuhin : Awesome and Meticulous, ONLY when he was younger
Issac Stern : In the footsteps of Heifetz, you'll be pleased.
Igor Oistrakh : Not as awesome as his old man, but has extreme skill nonetheless

I'm not sure whether you want me to list out my entire collection, all 30GB of it (and that's not that much!). However, I have some favourites, especially as I am a musician (pianist) - pieces which I have played mainly

Piano
Claude Debussy - Pour le piano (Prelude, Sarabande, Tocatta), Images I (Water Reflections)
Maurice Ravel - Ondine (Gaspard de la Nuit), J'eau Deux, Pavane Pour Ine Infante Defunte - Those are absolutely my favourite piano pieces, marvellous to play as well.... ahhh...
Chopin - Etudes Op.10 No.1 (C maj), No.4 (C# min), No.10 (C min, revolutionary), Scherzo No.2 in Bbm

(I have 'taster' recordings of all of those listed above - as in, they're bad performances - performed by me, but if you want to get a taste of how they sound I can pass them to you)

Obviously there's a lot more to list, but those are my favourite piano pieces

Chamber
Shostakovich - Piano Trio No.2, Jazz Suites
Ravel - Piano Trio (just GORGEOUS)

Concertos
Ravel - Piano Concerto No.1 in G, Left hand concerto
Abe - Prism Rhapsody (Dual marimba concerto)
Grieg - Piano Concerto in A minor Op16
Prokofiev - Piano Concerto No.3 in C
Samuel Barber - Violin Concerto Op.14
Sibelius - Violin Concerto in D minor, Op.47
Shostakovich - Piano Concerto No.1
Saint-Saens - Morceau de Concert (French Horn)
Sammartini - Concerto in F major for Recorder

Orchestral / Large Ensemble
Parry - I was Glad (w/ choir)
Resphighi - Pines of Rome
Handel - Messiah
Holst - The Planets
Kabalevsky - Colas Breugnon
Mahler - Symphony No.1
Ravel - Daphnis et Chloe

Obviously I didn't list A LOT, but the above include my favourites... I guess I just love Ravel.

I don't know if this has been recommended:

Chopin-- Grande Polonaise Brillante In E flat major With Preceding Andante Spianato In G major Op.22 -- Polonaise. Allegro Molto

If you wathced The Pianist by Roman Polanski before, you'll know it's the piece that the main character played at the end of the movie.

Here's another of my favourite piece of Chopin's work

Grande Polonaise Brillante In E flat major With Preceding Andante Spianato In G major Op.22 -- Polonaise. Allegro Molto

If you've seen The Pianist, you'll know that it was played at the end of the movie.

*Edit: Do you know where to get the piano score for Nocturne Op.32 No.2?
