I found one topic in the main forum in Property Talk.
I believe this sofa discussion should be more appropriate in Home Renovations and Interior Design sub forum.

Feel free to share your sofa selection and buying experiences. rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif rclxub.gif thumbup.gif

I am currently sourcing for furniture too including sofa, have done some research and love particularly few brands, fella design, deep living, Milano. Eventually decided to get from deep living as I couldnt take my eyes away from the sofa I saw in the showroom, so hv paid for it at the end, need to wait for 1.5months for manufacturing.

Anybody has any idea which shop to go for to look for nice furniture like those in the property showroom? They always hv really nice furniture but I really hv no time to go to furniture shop one by one to check out, u know kl/pj have hundreds of furniture shops..... Pening ...

BoConcept are designer's range of furniture. They are quite similar to ZXQT at 1U and those at Gardens (Sofa that can price around RM28K on sale) shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif However, some of their things are very nice and some are quite reasonable... blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

I do not recommend Macy Furniture. Please do not get anything from them... bad experience, no after sales service, the person you normally deals with may just leave the company and no one will follow up what is happening to your order etc and most likely will tell you here is RM50 now leave us alone (after fighting RM150...will continue to fight)

When purchasing anything from any stores, please be the little mean, fussy and unreasonable customer. It may safe you from getting the after sales service more efficient.

I bought a L-shade acacia fabric sofa, original price is rm5800, they are trying to clear display unit which has only been there for merely 1 month thus the condition is superb, they offer rm5200 for the display unit but I preferred bright color instead of the grey colour(display unit), so I hv to wait for 1.5 moths for manufacturing. After bargain and bargain they sold to me for rm4900 only with full payment, some more can choose colour, hah...

I think mine is manufactured locally la, cos i saw Harvey Norman tag on my leather sofa instead of some european brand. The list price is rm20K but i got for 14K.

The leather is quite nice, i can tell its real leather because the leather grain is random and different

I have seen Deep Living in a few furniture and home fair. Their price can vary from one fair to another. Same model. I saw in Bkt Jalil, they quote RM3800 then in PWTC it become RM4500. Haha, different venue different price.

But their design look nice but not in my budget especially when u see in the store..

I am looking for this type of sofa - 4 seater, fabric, high back support, gray color & with legs, arm rest not too big - from SSF. Any ideas where to find similar type? The one in my picture has been sold off cry.gif Been eyeing it for a few months but I couldn't buy back then as my apt wasn't ready yet at that time. Not sure if their other outlets might have it but will go visit this month.

Normally you can ask the staff to check for you which outlet still available, and they will send to you from that outlet.
I like furniture from SSF a lot but they normally sell their display unit sad.gif
They don't have any spare units in their warehouse.

I just used my 30% discount on 5 items for the birthday month promotion if you're their member. totally worth it.

(may I know from which outlet this photo was taken? I really like the rustic coffee table)

Thanks for the tip, will go check with them. Hopefully still have it somewhere but I doubt the price will be same already cos at that time, the sofa was at 30% discount. But keeping my fingers crossed nonetheless of its availability and price smile.gif

This outlet is in Puchong.

Based on comment from forumers, Deep Living after sales is a bit headache to them but it's all case to case basis.
I cant comment on that but my personal opinion is that although design is nice but price really not cheap too.

Vonza package is that RM9000++? One sofa, one dining table, tv console and coffee table

True. Seldom you will get really good deal.
Fair will get the seller volume and margin but if cannot cope with the demand will cause after sales problems.

So, you got any sofa yet?

Highly recommend to get sofa from HATCH, especially one of their friendly staff name Ay. He serve me and explain me well throughout the whole purchasing process. They are using Acacia fabric for the sofa, correct if im wrong. Worth buying. Personally myself i bought the 2+3 with recliner just only cost me Rm6990. Its not expensive if you compare by value. The value is there but not like Vonza's , i saw many negative feedbacks online and i did manage to have a look over there. Totally big difference compare with Hatch and the attitude of the staff is pretty sucks. Ay is the only sales guy i could rmb him cause i bought my sofa few months back from him and i went to MF3 recently and he still rmb me. What i can say is, Well-Trained by hatch and good products provide by Hatch. Highly recommended to look for Ay thumbup.gif

No I haven't buy the sofa, but I will drop by their showroom or next furniture fair to buy because my house VP is on year end so not in a hurry. When will they deliver your sofa? Hope to hear some feedback and review from you for their sofa =)

Hi, any sifu please correct me if I'm wrong.
Acacia is a brand which source the fabrics from Asia and Europe.
It will be more expensive than other brand as it has water resistant or scratch resistant.
The feel and quality might be better than other brand but you need to pay a little more for that too

Thanks for your reply. Ya, it will be worth the price although more expensive than normal fabric. I am looking for shops to buy but so far only found few from the dealer list but not sure the price range yet. eg. abitex, deep living, zolano

Hi, Can anybody tell how to verify whether the sofa maker is using genuine acacia fabric? I saw the acacia fabric with this label. But so far I only saw 1 sofa company has this label labotex certified label in their brochure. Attached Image

Based on comment from forumers, Deep Living after sales is a bit headache to them but it's all case to case basis.
I cant comment on that but my personal opinion is that although design is nice but price really not cheap too.

Vonza package is that RM9000++? One sofa, one dining table, tv console and coffee table

I got a sofa from them, delivered yesterday. No issue or any fuss, they need a lead time of around 2-3 weeks, but I pushed for 2 weeks and managed to get it.

Price wise, it's above some of the others but is cheaper than the likes of Hatch, though for now, quality wise is of no difference.

This is from Deep Living though, I was also worried after seeing the discussion here after I paid the deposit but thankfully no issue here.

They told me Vonza is mother / daughter company but run independently when I asked about it, but never really elaborated on it.

Anyone heard about this MorosO leather sofa from Ipoh?
www.thlsofa.com

I bought a full leather sofa (1R+2+3) from them yesterday which cost me 6k.
I bought it to the point of comfortable, feel really nice sitting on it.
They give 2 years warranty for leather and mechanism; 6 years warranty for sinking and 10 years warranty for structure.
They claimed it as cow leathers and their own website say its a 21 years old sofa factory.
But i cant find any information or review about this except its own website,
which i think least updated and information available.
So, can consider as OEM brand. I think i get conned >.<
Any comment?

Please help....

At the same time (its was a furniture fair),
CasaItaly actually offer a similar full leather sofa (1R+2+3) for 4800 ONLY.
Together with 5 years structure warranty
and they said they are using melati wood (a higher grade wood than plywood that normally used in sofa).
I had read review about their leather peel off but the after sales service seems quite good as they actually replace a new leather for them.
Casaltaly seems like quite well known for their leather sofa.
But, one think is i think its too soft and it sinked while sitting on it, but they said can customized the spring to the hardness that i prefer.

Due to this uncertainty, i didn pick it, am i too stupid?? I felt so dilemma now >.<

Yes, abit expensive.

I bought my sofa from Mylanohaus 2 months ago..i saw they having warehouse sales this week when i drop by their showroom yesterday to search for a coffee table.
Saw some high end sofa with better quality leather and electronic incliner built in around 4-5K for 3-4 seater L shape. Regret that i bought my sofa earlier... else i might grab one.

Grab a unit of round coffee table there @ MYR 999. Not bad the design.

It actually depends on the fabric. Acacia fabric is imported from EU. You will know immediately when feeling the fabric - Acacia fabric feels different from normal fabric.

No need to say, Acacia fabric is more expensive. Monaza also has it's own brand name to take care of smile.gif.

Depends on the shop requirement.
Best not to pay full. Nego with the shop.
If there's quality issue still can reject on the spot.

I suggest you wait for sales period. Bought a sofa from Cellini with retail price around 16K, reduced to around 6.6K during sales, placed booking but told me factory no longer produce this model 2 weeks later. Pissed and told them I only want this model, ended up with display set, discounted price come up to 5.5K. Sofa still in excellent condition after 6 years.

Any body here bought Hatch sofa before? seem pretty good workmanship and quality. Not sure a custom 3+L sofa c/w 2 electronic recliner wrapped with latest acacia fabric worth for RM6.1k or not, but my wife and i love it after visited a fair in PWTC today.

im not sure what color code ad, jz d model is exactly as I order from their roadshow.

Sofa for 4.1k, cofe table 800, tv console 1100 = total 6k. (actually tis price can be much more further down as I surveyed)

Bought my sofa from a showroom at Jln Maarof 6 yrs ago. Last year sofa koyak (sinking) and quite worn out after my son jump jump on it. Thot look back for supplier .. mana tau sudah chap lap. 10 yr warranty also no use.

To save cost, found someone to repair and upholster whole set, about 2k. Does not look as good as brand new but still ok la. Otherwise, have to fork out 4-6k for new set. Hope this can tahan 2-3 yrs Im happy lor.

Hi guys! Any suggestions where I can find slim looking sofas as in attached picture? My living room is narrow (only 10.5ft) but long (more than 25 ft) so I'm thinking of a corner sofa but not the bulky type. Hope some sifu here can help.

Many thanks rclxms.gif Attached Image

Enough space between the sofa and the tv panel.

Already fixed the tv on the panel. This pic was taken earlier.

its really hard to differentiate genuine and fake leather nowadays

there are too many types of leahter, nippon, klux leahter looks exactly like real leather, just beware and choose to deal with reliable shop

I bought a set of sofa from a company. And found out later that the set was not made of full genuine leather. I called the customer careline but the person-in-charge insisted that the sofa set came with genuine cow hide and she even challenged me to do material test at SIRIM.

Then I went to their factory in Kampung Baru Subang and the workers showed me the differences between genuine cow hide and some PU and fabric-based bonded leather. I also checked with the leather supplier in Balakong.

Then they agreed to take back the sofa and refund my money in full. That was few months ago. But their lorry never come to pick up the sofa.

I called another person-in-charge, Kevin again last month after waiting so long for the refund. He told me that they have decided to refabricate the set with full genuine cow hide. But until today, their lorry never come to collect. Calls / SMS / e-mail to the customer careline and company were not answered.

I think they are just buying time, hoping that I may forget the matter...

Agree. Those in Taobao website really nice design and affordable price.
Some have really good review from China buyers.
Thanks to our weak currency, it's difficult to buy.

One con is that if stay in condo the transport co only drop in lobby. icon_question.gif

you get what you pay for. if you spend 1-1.5 k on a 2+3 set then you will get basically some bulky junk. save yourself the trouble and skip it.

you get what you pay for. if you spend 1-1.5 k on a 2+3 set then you will get basically some bulky junk. save yourself the trouble and skip it.

Any suggestion with that price range?

IMO, buying furniture is for long term purpose/usage.. definitely not going to change furniture in a short period of time, say for example every 2 years! A good furniture (good quality) must at least can be used for 10 years.. Eventually, it's still depends on individual choices & budgets!

Price vs quality, and the problem is limited budget. The house is mean for my parent, as I plan to get another house in 3 years time.
Sigh.. why so expensive ....

If your parents don't mind on the quality, for lower price you can look around Living Index, HomePro or Courts or Chan Furniture or Perabot Cempaka or other furniture shop.
I'm sure there's option for any budget. A sofa bed can cost less than 2k.

one sofa for 2k is definitely more of an option which will last a couple of years than a 3+2 combo. if you want to have cheap(er) and decent quality the easiest way is to head over to IKEA and buy he MID-range. If you buy the cheapest one you also get junk (albeit better junk than courts). The mid and high range of IKEA is actually of extremely good quality for the money you spend. also skip leather and opt for fabric to reduce cost.

My old house sofa is old fashion, definitely not the kind of sofa that we can find nwadays. It's 20yrs+ but still okok to use.

I may downgrade my expectation from 2+3 seaters to those L-shape 3 seaters while maintaining the same budget. So with this, may be I can get something better?
my initial thought is to get the furniture from those type of shops too, as my budget definitely cant go for branded. Just wonder, how wonder long can they last, hopefully wont spoiled within 2-3 years

Just wonder, is sofa bed quality will be better than the normal sofa? Tot their price normally higher, so giving the same price, the sofa bed will some of sort lower quality than sofa?

fabric is cheaper. that's all. actually fabric is not hard to maintain. whats hard to maintain (crack etc) is PU and cheap / low quality leather. you might be better off with a good fabric.

thumbup.gif great, a good take away for me!
With my tight budget, maybe fabric is better option. still undecided whether to go for 3 seaters, L shape or those 2+3 seaters...
got more furniture other than sofa to think of..

Anyone bought sofa from Index Living in IOI City Mall before? Any review on the sofa? Saw one priced around RM2500...and it has all the criteria I am looking for but I don't know if their sofa quality is ok. Quite comfortable to sit on.

Look for Grace. I bought my bed there. I recommended my friend there and he bought lots of stuff there.
Only caveat when buying wardrobe from them, as it is OEM from another factory and not by themselves.

Their sofas looks and feels great. My first choice if I want to buy sofa.

Gotten my 3+2 sofa based on hushymushy's recommendation, and then went to survey around and finally bought from Hoi Kong. Good service, and the leather sofa that i got was comfy and nice! And delivering in exactly 1 month upon confirmation, even in peak season.

Hi guys. Might be out of topic but want to know besides leather, is velvet/suede kind material is ok for a sofa? It's not the shiny one so it doesn't look cheap. Or fabric is better ? Leather is not an option for me for now, out of budget. Thanks !

Hi, got this off the website. It's from bahagia furniture. I can either choose suede like in the pic or fabric. Went to few furniture shops but this one fits my budget as well as my back. Quite firm.

@pltan , what is micro suede ? Not sure if this material is normal suede or micro suede.

Im also looking for this type of sofa.
cheapest is RM3990 casa leather, RM4490 berry leather and full leather RM8K~RM9K.
so if you can get RM4.3K, i think good enough.

btw, What is berry leather? casa leather ? saleman said berry is better than casa???

casa leather quite similar with berry leather, both also synthetic leather. but berry leather slightly more durable if compare with casa

genuine cowhide should be at least 6K+ above for this type of size

Saw some sofa during week, the design itself is just like normal leather sofa & nothing special, but what caught my eyes is the salesman claim it's made of new technology man made leather name hybrid leather from Japan, which also used in Lexus car seat.
The sofa is claimed scratch resistance, which the sale man scratched using a car key on the sofa surface & no obvious scratch mark seen. Then they put a standing spot light shoot direct onto the sofa and asked me to sit on it, don't feel obviously hot though. By touching on the surface the skin is soft and does have a genuine leather feel.
Try google about this so call hybrid leather but can't find related info., guess the scientific name might be different.

So anyone heard about this kind of leather?

Went to Perfect Livin during the weekend.. and finally bought my sofa.

From Hatch ... 2.5 + 2 seaters buying point was that they are using a new fabric call Aqua Clean , easy clean of stains.

Just hope that the fabric will last as represented.

I just ask for refund from Hatch by 3 weeks ago. boought from Hatch TTDI , 1st time deliver, wrong color, take back 1 week to do modified, (my house no sofa 1 week), the color is correct, and width and length become shorter, less 3 inches, height less 5 inches. rclxub.gif the salesman also do not understand why. and the boss refused to talk wit us. so, since wrong again, we request them to do a totally new sofa ( not modified from the current wrong size sofa again) after 2 weeks... wrong again hahah !! the size shorter again ... the salesman came our house again ... this time we asked for refund.. because drag too long time already and we gave a few chance to them.

we request the number from the boss. (since the boss all the time at the factory, and he said QC for sofa). the salesman refuse to give boss phone number for us. so no choice. we ask for refund immediately , because the driver wanna take back the whole set of sofa (current and new). From the start the boss do not want to refund immediately, after discuss and argue with the salesman, the boss refund immediately by bank transfer.

how we know the size become shorter? from the 1st day we paid for 4k for deposit, we took pic of the sofa and also the size. but unfortunately, we didnt mentioned the size on the tax invoice.

the acacia fabric sofa: 10k sharp.

Tip: if u gonna buy from them, must write down the size clearly on the Tax invoice and also the color, warranty.

THEIR BOSS VERY CUNNING. !!
My Webpage
they modified the sofa handle become longer.... X_X omg....... lol.....

The display set with the size and price should be ok but the colour not easy to clean if dirty.
If need add money not worth ready, my personal opinion.

lucky it is fully washable, acacia fabric maintenance is better by sending for dry cleaning.
i was thinking to add money so i can make new one and choose other color.

Looks good. Did you buy since it's fair price?
I got a set of mattress and divan set from them during fair, prompt response from salesperson and delivery on time.

Will be getting my sofa from Hatch soon.. madewith new material called aquaclean where most stains can be remived by water only.

Will post a review...fingers crossed..

Review

OK..receieved the sofa 2 months. Nothing much to complain..the sofa came as ordered. The material is pretty good so far, kids had spliied milk and son on it...just need to wipe with water and the stain goes off.

I would rate Hatch as 3 and half stars..juts above average. Nothing special or extraordinary service provided.

Where you see this brand? If you google cannot find the co website. Better be careful coz how you justify they are giving real full leather.
Survey a few shop before decide. There is always better deal outside than home fair.

They do not have any retail shops, only selling at fairs. I also like their sofa, one of the most comfy sofa I ever tested, almost wanted to book a set too but held back by my wife due to budget issue. Till now me still thinking of their recliners but too over my budget la. But although they do not hv any physical shops, the most you will lose is rm100 to rm200 of deposits. Not sure about now, but the last time I enquire about 3 months ago, they only take rm100 of deposit, balance you can pay by credit card when they delivers to you. They will also drop by your place to do a final measurement and will give suggestion according to your place setup and design. A different kind of selling concept, the most you lose is your deposits. Worth the risk if you can afford the price and like their sofa

Oh ya, I must add, they claim to be using only full leather but to me i really cannot tell if it is genuine or not. This is another risk I must say.

So financial strong? Need only RM100-200 deposit till delivery.
Big co also required 30%-40% deposits.
There are time, fair sample and actual delivery do feel and look different.
Can share any photo here? Tempting offer yeah.

If your delivery time still far away, can save a bit every month and more if got bonus time.
No harm if really no big deposits required.
Scare only suddenly they ask higher deposits when near delivery or you won't get the delivery.
Give some sweetener before lock you in.

Ask a few seller for tips on identifying the real full leather.
Compare against those in Lorenzo and etc.

thats the problem, nowdays synthetic leather looks so real, I was told even those in the trade also cant really tell off hand. If you hv the $$, go for auto instead of manual as it is easier to control at which point you want it to stop. Usually for a 3 seater recliners, only the left and right seat can be reclined but theirs, they can make every seat to be able to recline, so you can have as many seater in a row and all reclinable

if the depth of your sofa seat or it's frame is not deep enough, having a 3 seater all reclined tend to flip backwards
hence practice for 3 seater is having the middle unable to recline act as an anchor

do agree on the auto vs manual, auto can stop whichever point u wish to stop, & manual have issue kicking it back in after extended.

If u plan go for auto, think of your wiring plans 1st , i messed this up , end up need to find extra large carpet to cover wire along it to power the motors

Help Needed Sifu... Pls. advise ..Worth or not?

Wanted to grab sofa but I noob..

I saw Lorenzo doing sales.. I went to their shop - 3 shops together 3 storey high..I think so big no close shop or cheat ppl right?

2 + 3 seater for RM4575...The one with tiger in broucher..

half leather top is Bovine leather means cowhide leather right?

meranti hard wood means this is better quality wood can last longer? Can sustain termite bite?

I did not take the last 1 seater or else the price will be RM6020.. around RM1400 for additional 1 seater not worth.. I may as well top up a bit get a 1 seater rocking chair right?

I go online check again Lorenzo which design series and technical specs just to be 100% sure....

My biggest issue with Lorenzo is I saw their receipt mention pay 30% deposit but the sales person asking me pay 50%... Can ar?

warranty list black n white on Sales Order - New Set, warranty on stiches and wooden frame 3 yrs.. Is this all I need? Anything to add? I saw at Lorenzo website they do not warranty against leather surface, in case your dogs or cats scratch on them sad.gif

My other question will be if 2+3 seater above I put one straight line by the wall ok or not? I don't want to put L shape to save space smile.gif

I do the conversion around 11.6ft, my living room hall 12.5 ft...

The design ok or not? To me look solid... No recliner, strong wooden leg..

What does it means by rounded structure is formed with a mix of high quality foam and natural fibers? The material long lasting or not?

The sales girl tell me pocketed spring? Is this good?

I am shopping for an L-shape sofa with recliner. Got such design?

Any upholstery expert here can give tips on how to shop for sofa? There are so many brands that are unheard of in exhibition. How to know if they are reliable and how to assess workmanship? Which brand is reliable?

I know there are many factories that make good quality furniture in Malaysia. I have been to a furniture factory in Muar before, but they say they don't do retail. Many of them only do export. How to buy export quality made in Malaysia furniture?

Thanks.

The foam type used in sofa actually very important which often overlook by many. A low density foam will cause sofa sink and not lasting. http://www.foamonline.com/types.php?cartID...b4d8c79932cefdb

Bought a L shaped sofa from Kinsen Home.
Used it for 5 months and so far so good. Service is good. delivery is prompt.

umm... its acacia fabric, supposedly imported from denmark or norway or something.
price is almost 3k for 9 feet L shaped sofa. You can choose the fabric color and the color of the seams too.

Anyone purchased any sofa from Harvey Norman before?
Am looking for leather sofa to replace my old sofa...

Went to their show room notice a nice sofa called Cherry almost 7k for a 2+3... anyone bought sofa there before and how was the experience? The sofa is nice but I felt a bit pricey as I can get similar 2+3 with slight topup from Lorenzo sweat.gif

either way both is equally expensive... Any good recommendation on places to find a good durable 2+3 full leather sofa ? icon_question.gif

I am interested to get a 4 seater L-shape sofa with recliner. It can be fabric or leather.

Any recommendations?

I checked with Lorenzo, they have that spec but the price is RM21k. Electric recliner. That's ridiculous.

I don't think I want to pay anything more than RM8k for a 4 seater sofa.

I tried sofa with feather fill. Really like the feeling compared to conventional foam. But price is too high. Anywhere to find similar feel sofa but cheaper? Pillows have down feather alternative using microfibre. Is there something like that in sofa?

Just share an experience of my friend who is migrating to Australia. He hired a mover to move his furniture to Australia, the mover has warranty everything against damage, and make exclusion for all Ikea furniture.

I hav 1. Not top class but can use la. It won't last 10yrs if using it frequently. For the durability it's considered a bit pricey. If u ask me I ll still buy ikea again. It's fine to me.

the cushioning for ikea not that great. the frame not big issue as got 10 year guarantee or some crap. sofa is worth spending the money on as should last 10-20 years without the cushion becoming like damn flat. my sis bought from macy's last time (dunno where its gone). but the sofa still gooding. i think 15 years di. just color not nice. but cushioning top notch till today.

Managed to get a Friheten corner sofa at Ikea at a discounted price last week.
Normal price is RM1,990.00 and discounted price was RM1,490.00. Savings of RM500.00!

Two of my sisters in Australia are using this sofa as well and one of them has 3 kids but the sofa has stood up pretty well so far in 4 years against rowdy kids as they often throw parties for the children.

For the price that I paid for, I guess it is worthwhile if it lasts between 5-8 years.
For me, I need some freshness in the house every now and then, so I will not be buying expensive sofas to use for more than 10 years...
Just my point of view...to each their own!

Yeah, probably the price has been lowered to clear stocks as I have been informed that they are going to discontinue this item. I think they are sold out at both Ikeas already.
It is good value for anyone who managed to get one of these...

Does anyone have any shops to recommend for me? I'm looking for a 2-seater reclinable sofa. I'd like leather if it wouldn't cost both my arms and legs. Klang Valley area.

When you meant the price, is it the quoted price or after negotiating for cheaper price?
The Apple furniture you mentioned, it has now gone kaput or closing down?

Whether nego or quote price, I still dont feel dealing with those bangla as all shops there mostly managed by foreigner. Furniture design not so nice. Apple closed shop there. Business so bad and no crowds.

Do visit houses of lighting, if u go there. Just row of shops right after Avenue. Great choice n price.

*
Noted with thanks sir. went there, and i think they are pakistani. some shops even got their family members liotering and sitting on the chairs, chatting away.
design-wise, not the worse, though for price comparison, i would need to check other furniture shops around Klang Valley to compare

Yeah, probably the price has been lowered to clear stocks as I have been informed that they are going to discontinue this item. I think they are sold out at both Ikeas already.
It is good value for anyone who managed to get one of these...
*
omg discontinue? I am still looking forward to buy this sofa bed.
The website price is shown as rm1790 instead of 1490 tho

Agreed, Avenue is overpriced and sellers doesn't really know stuff. Only selling packages.

But houses of lighting (just behind it, older row of shops. Although out of topic but a must mention. Very good prices.

I have been told this is going to be discontinued.
The best is to go to the store itself and check if they have stock.
Their online inventory is not accurate. Sometimes if you call, the operator gets it wrong as well.
I bought mine during the sale in March. This was selling fast at that time and I was monitoring the availability closely. I called to enquire and was told it was sold out. I doubted her and went to the store to check. It was still available and I managed to get it at RM1490.00.
Mine is still not assembled as my house is just about to complete renovating.
But I guess for a sofa bed like this costing less than RM1,500.00, lasting 5 years or more with normal usage will be considered very good already.

How about a manufacturer called THL Sofa located in Perak? The vendor says its quality is on par with Lorenzo and Rozel? I also seen this company exhibited at some of the events before I think not mistaken it was at MF3

what’s a suitable budget for good/decent half leather 3+2 sofa? 5-6k? i saw some elk the other week which felt quite nice

my living room long and narrow 7.5’x12.5’ (9.5’x12.5’ if count walk area). wanted to get corner sofa but couldn’t find any that can fit 7.5’ unless just do one seat next to corner unit which is not ideal since tv will be located on the short wall. any tips? probably will end up getting 3+2 if not.

Anyone had experience with Forest Contemporary furniture sofas? Saw a 3 seater at their Sg Besi showroom. Fabric...asking for RM2.9k. Pretty comfy - feels similar to Zolano sofas.

Was aiming for Zolano but can't seem to find a dealer which has a few models to test. HomeDec models not to my liking.

I'm noob in sofa shopping. Went to Avenue Puchong this afternoon. Saw all shops by foreigner. I'm not sure if the price is ok because I haven't visited other areas. 3+2 leather recliner for RM3500. Seller says it genuine cow leather. How true is that? I'm afraid to be conned.
Anyone have shopping experience at Avenue Puchong before? I see many people avoid them due to bangla issue. Other than that, anything wrong? Seller also said no GST for all their product. Isn't that weird?
Should I avoid it ? If yes, any other places to shop for sofas?

My fengshui sifu gave me the contact. The agent is local. She helps to pay to taobao because she got an account and she will arrange the shipment for me.

But it will take approx 4-6 weeks to reach Malaysia.

It is important to choose the vendors that have more than 500 reviews.

Or you want to wait till i receive the goods? Then only i can give my comments.

Normally sofa is packed in a plastic wrapping paper right. For this taobao furniture, they pack it in a box. Not sure if I know how to install it.

The baking soda will neutralize the smell of vinegar. The pee hit the underside of bedframe which was covered by fabric. Maybe you can do a quick test on a piece of rag to see how it smell like.
Oh ya...i used a spray bottle to spray the vinegar on the fabric. Then immediately sprinkle baking soda on top. There will be a small chemical reaction like bubbling and fizzling which is to be expected. Good luck

Hi.
If seller told me the sofa is casa leather, how do i know its true?
Genuine leather is out of budget, so maybe should just opt for casa leather..

And also, anyone bought from Alcano design in sungai buloh, or Avenue concept store in kajang? Any review?

Thank you.

i came across Zolano sofa and they all look very nice (i presume their price also very "nice").
anyone can give an idea what would be the approximate price for sofa from this brand(lets say 4seat-L)?

if there is any reseller in malaysia or showroom i can visit to have a feel on it?

Hi bro, have you received your sofa from China?
You bought it from Taobao?

I wanted to buy a solid fabric sofa from China also.
Just wonder how is the quality and is it worth for the price?

I also look around in Taobao for some times and finally give up on following reason :-
- can't ensure its quality and look feel
- price wise not really cheaper than local products
- risk of damage or missing parts

Example of local products : 4 seats L Shape model CS13, RM2999/=

I have a one year old HATCH sofa with AquaClean fabric (RM7k), works as expected. Service was excellent, qualit of products top notch. Durability, still like brand new even after a year of my 2 ferocious feline scratching it. I sleep on this more than I sit on it.

I have two single seater ikea seat with a matchin foot stool (total RM1500) which I really really like, cheap and comfy, fabric. 6 months, still nice. I sit on this more, maybe due to the placement in the house.

Incoming a leather 3 seater+convertible+daybed , 12ft long reverse-L, Hilker from Mylanohaus (RM8k). Hilker is a bullshit brand la, but from the build quality, I think im paying for that. Was considering that or another HATCH (yes, because of the quality and service that i received) but alas the minister mahu leather, and its wider in all necessary places. Nanti saya comment.

Thanks, got the same answer from the seller... still wonder want to do so... worry make it worse.

Anyway is only notice when quiet environment.

Found out the sound is come from the wood of centre support leg, which is adjustable. Default is about 0.5cm gap from the floor.

Once I adjust the screw to touch the floor firm, when I sit, the wood join the front frame cause this minor sound.

If leave it a gap, then no such sound.

So the question is, is this centre adjustable leg, suppose to touch the floor firm? or just as backup.

Hey all,

Why not try to purchase from Lazada for furniture? I have purchased most of the furniture through there and the prices there are really crazy cheap versus offline stores

Recently I was renovating my formal lounge and I found great leather lounge suites at https://www.fancyhomes.com.au/shop/cat/sofa...er/lounge-suite. I like combination of neutral colors and bold textures and materials. For keeping it formal, I decided to go with a leather sofa, dark wooden table and a bookshelf. And, for softening up a little, I matched gray woolen pillows with the carpet.

Bought a sofa from Solotti Living. Its a L Shape sofa, with cup holder, extended seat and 2 stools. Bought it from Bukit Jalil Home expo on 13th July 2018, and the salesman promised the sofa will be ready latest by 45 days.

45 days passed, still no news. Called them, no answer. Message them, no reply.

Until I rant about it on their FB, then only they called me, say sorry for the late delivery of the sofa due to supplier issue. so I give them until 20th September 2018 to complete and deliver the sofa.

And guess what, today they call again and say that the sofa will be delay again, ETA october. So i asked for full refund of the deposit which i paid earlier. That one also will take them around 1 week to settle it.

So would like to check with u guys, which sofa company is good in term of quality and delivery period? my budget is around RM3k for 3 seater sofa.

Same here, I saw many pretty sofas on Taobao that suits the minimalist theme I'm going for but then I'm worried about the quality and if there is any defect. It will be quite troublesome to return and exchange it.

Probably will get one sofa bed from IKEA if I can't find anything else blush.gif

This makes a great bachelor pad and considering that it’s a recliner, it’s quite reasonable.

I got mine for 4K from Rigno at Home Expo

A few weeks ago walk into jusco found a good recliner chair seller sell it for 1.6k

Look for the same brands online manage to get it around RM 8xx . Walkin direct nego to get online price.

Also bought a sofa bed online and go there to see with my eyes. Walkin direct nego to get online price also manage to do so. Most shop sells for RM 1xxx manage to get it RM 7xx , also they help to get rid the old furniture for a small fees

Already tired of leather materials good for first 3 to 5 years later, the leather broke apart , last time bought from Cavenzi my L shape chair RM3xxx , survive only 1 year , they scam said it was full leather, manage to get warranty however to pay also RM 1xxx for replacement to full leather, working great for 3 to 5 years and it started to tear apart.

For 3k, your L shape chair isn't of a good quality. The price does reflect the quality. Have a comparison with Rozel, most of their furnitures use leather and I don't recall hearing any bad feedback about this brand except for it being expensive

You can double check by having a walk around harvey norman and ask them about the sofas? Mine, I had a look at harvey norman for more than 3 times, but their prices are way too expensive.

P.S. Staffs are entitled to 60% discount (up to 2 purchases per year) and work in the department. Check and see if you have Harvey Norman friends lmao

I wanna ask the folks here, I was at the Sunway Home expo recently and most of the sofas there are selling some type of Leather which they call it ECO leather, advantages is that is doesn't scratch and maintenance is minimal and looks like leather.

I know the cost is almost as half as full leather, around 4k or so but I actually do not like real leather especially cow leather.
As a person like me who doesn't waste time maintaining leathers, in coming years real leather will crack and scratches will be easily seen and it will have more if you have children, I don't wanna spend something so expensive and it needs to be taken care properly in order for it to look nice.

So my question is that, is there any side effects that people see with this type of synthetic leather in their use in the log run? If anyone can convince me why leather is still better I' all ears but it can't have the cons of full leather.

Pic below is from a company called Modeno, nice design and price reasonable, all inputs are welcome!

QUOTE(Spawny @ Mar 4 2019, 02:30 PM)

First, maintenance of leather is not that difficult. Second, synthetic leather regardless of how good it is ... It is still not leather. Analogy: a quartz watch will tell better time but it is still not a mechanical watch.

I am not advocating to buy leather. That depends on your budget, needs and requirements. Like you said if you have small and overactive kids that tend to destroy furniture then you may want to get cheaper synthetic leather.

One thing: real leather smells different!

Hi all, i'm scouting for a sofa for a new condo; been going around the exhibitions and see that Casa Moderno and CrownLivin dominate the exhibitions most of the time. Any reviews from these two places or whether there's any other recommended places to visit other than Harvey Norman / Lorenzo? (looking for fabric instead of leather as do not intend to open a/c most of the time)

how is China sofa compared to the ones manufactured in Malaysia? Seems that at home fair, most of the designs are the same so I guess they all came from China factory.

My experience with Cellini is product quality ok and reasonably lasting. Price no sale is on the high side. If you can get 50% discount then may be ok. They do have sales once in a while.

I bought many years ago for one of my houses. For my new house I am not considering it because I find the design a bit boring

Went to Zolano & Rozel in old klang road since both are quite close from one another. But had two totally different customer experience. Zolano salesperson knows their product very well and listen very well to customer’s need and propose which model according to your need. Rozel? I would not recommend unless you knows furniture and types of upholstery very well and with touch you know what is what, because the salesperson wouldn’t be very helpful to you.
