QUOTE(doinfinity @ Apr 10 2016, 05:17 PM) Hi David, Thank you for your advice, I will advise him go to the said branch to check for further details. My uncle just told me he called the branch before, they told him nothing much they can do, he must clear the tax payment which refer to their system record or prove them with his own record/receipt. So now he just ignore the letter, as he do not plan to go oversea. Need some advice: what if they insist us on pay the outstanding tax payment, but we do not have any record/receipt to provide/prove? anything we can do to help ourselves on such case? (as most people keep record for latest 7 years) There're only 3 options for this: 1. Set up a meeting with the tax officer or somebody with higher authority (audit head or branch head) to understand the case clearly on how they come with that grand total and if possible, negotiate with relevant support documents etc. 2. Ignore the notice and your uncle may be served with warning or perhaps a lawsuit letter. Your uncle will be then permanently in the immigration blacklist. Even your uncle is not planning to go to overseas now or near future, he may seek for overseas medical service at our neighbouring country at the south. (touch wood but it's a reality). 3. Just pay the sum!

Hi there,
I have a question on professional course tax relief,
Is SAP certificate course (skills in ERP programme) eligible for the RM5,000 deduction? And ... I took the loan from Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran for this course is it eligible for the relief? The loan is about RM22k, so only 5k can deduct per year or can deduct the balance in the following year?

For your question. Is SAP certificate course (skills in ERP programme) eligible for the RM5,000 deduction?
An amount limited to a maximum of RM5,000 is deductible in respect of fees expended on any course of study up to tertiary level in any institution in Malaysia recognised by the Malaysian Government or approved by the Minister for the purpose of acquiring any skills or qualifications:
(i) up to tertiary level (other than a degree at Masters or Doctorate level), for the purpose of acquiring law accounting, Islamic financing, technical, vocational industrial, scientific or technological skills or qualifications; or
(ii) any course of study for a degree at Masters or Doctorate level. Paragraph 46(1)(f)
If it is full all the above condition, then your SAP certificate course of RM5,000 is eligible for deduction as you have incurred the fees on your own.
The RM5,000 is eligible for the relief per year subject to the condition above.
For the loan incurred, the relief is applicable for interest paid on housing loans which is also subject to terms and conditions. But not applicable for the loan on the course.

Last year my EPF did not reach RM6000, so I included my insurance inside the RM6k limit.
This year if I already reach RM6k+ for EPF alone, do I need to put in my life insurance in my e-filing?

Will LHDN query me, why I put in insurance last year but this year I didnt? Can they still audit me for last year's insurance?

If you're so unfortunate to be chosen for audit, you should have all the documents to support your claim.
