Can the medical insurance relief for my child be use for deduction of my wife's own income tax?

Same as the children relief, you or your wife could file for the relief.

It depends on how much tax saving (refund) this RM 3k of tax relief can offer.

Usually tax saving is greater when you're at the tax bracket boundary; i.e. RM 3k relief can lower your tax bracket from the higher tax bracket.

Hope you get what I'm trying to explain up there!

It follows the policy owner.

You cannot claim whatever relief that under other people name.

Yes. If you are in need of one. Family members in need of one. Or else, no need to waste money on it.

Eh waitttttt... to claim under that medical/education insurance you need to fulfill certain criteria. i'm pretty sure kid's medical not eligible for that category.

sorry, no time to google the info, but you can only claim medical under your own. when you go for education, the policy must
a) mature at/before your kid turns 25.
b) you are the policy owner and that you have attached a payor waiver.

google please. thanks. bye.

Facing problem to register for first timer. My experienced.
1: I registered for http://edaftar.hasil.gov.my/ and successful. It provided me no rujukan.

2: Try to register e-filling https://ez.hasil.gov.my/CI/ Here we go.
I unable to register e-filling because of No Pin.

I read the guide said that there are 3 options to get Pin No.

First, thru online (where link given was error) failed.

2nd, thru phone. I tried to call and the customer service said that for first time logger, there's no other way to get the Pin No unless do 3rd option.

3rd, visit LHDN branch.

Okay, fine.

Today, LHDN opened counter to assist e-filling thingy at Dataran Maybank.

I went there. Que, pass the form. The officer said I didn't register anything. Bla bla bla. He tried to call the office that person didn't pick up.

He said can register but office didn't phone call. Okay.
Then he said you no need to register because you still not required to pay the tax. Then I said, I come here to declare.

He checked again and ask my email address, help me to provide Pin No, tomorrow.

I don't know why so hard to get Pin No and why some of my friends manage to get Pin No. Why we still need to go to LHDN office just to generate Pin No?

So, I suggest for first timer, directly go to LHDN office. They open on weekend.
*
I requested the e-PIN from them also. Apparently effective April they have stopped ALL requests for e-pin through online or via phone. The only way to get it is to go to a LHDN branch.

I thought only PRS and some annuity scheme can get for tax relief.

Normal unit trust or mutual funds are not entitled.

For 2, sure can.
Make sure you tell them that it is still insurance, so technically can put on any column, as long as it mention insurance and hope that the officer are stupid enough to believe you thumbsup.gif

Life insurance cannot claim as medical insurance.. U can check ur insurance statement on the definition of life insurance and tax eligibility.. Unless ur life insurance is investment link where part of them r medical, then u can claim the medical portion.. Just read the insurance yearly statement u will be able to find out..
