After I submitted the TP1 form, can I still claim relief that omitted at final e-filling?
*
TP1 form is to be submitted at the start of the year... not for Year end use lah.
Your HR dept is not doing it right.

There's a new Tax Relief for SOCSO contributors, with limit up to RM250.
Does anyone has more info how to claim this tax relief for YA2016

QUOTE(rapple @ Jan 21 2016, 03:36 PM)
Like EPF relief.

You claim the portion that employer deduct to pay to Sosco.

But then the maximum deduction from Socso table is RM14.75 per month x 12 = RM177 per year.

Means they encourage us to contribute more??
*
But RM14.75 is the maximum deduction for SOCSO... so we can claim RM177 Tax Relief only

QUESTION : I had my gallbladder removed last year, is this claimable under Perbelanjaan perubatan bagi penyakit yang sukar diubati atas diri sendiri, suami/isteri atau anak?
*
Cannot claim lah... Sukar Diubati = Terminal disease = Dying soon
eg. heart attack, pulmonary hypertension, chronic liver disease, fulminant viral hepatitis, head trauma with neurological deficit, brain tumour or vascular malformation, major burns, major organ transplant and major amputation of limbs.

QUOTE(adele123 @ Apr 3 2016, 10:25 PM)
use efiling in english. you will find that it makes sense.

question... the medical insurance part... say my premium is 800... but including gst it will be 848.

1) so the tax relief part is 848 or 800? (btw, the statement that the insurance company sent points to 800 for medical premium)

say i contributed 1000 last year to prs. including the annual fee of 8.48, it will be 1008.48.

2) so tax relief under prs is 1008 or 1000?
*
Follow what's written on the Statement send by the Insurance. Don't make assumption.
In case (1), put RM800 only.
For case (2), put RM1000 only.

Hi, I got retrenched last year 2015 and got compensation for lost of employment. Based from sources I researched, some of this is not taxable. But when doing the e-filing, I can not find a place to put this amount to indicate at it is tax exempt. Please help.
*
Only taxable amount need to be declared... if it's tax-exempt, why put it in ?

Does this mean if I put part of my salary into Petrol Allowance (RM500 per month), I could save RM6000 in taxes, right ?

From the Public Ruling 2-2013 [Perquisites From Employment], these are the 4, I found which we can "legally" to reduce taxes by "restructuring your salary"

Travelling allowance, petrol allowance or toll rate
(b) Travelling allowance, petrol allowance or toll rate received by an employee for travelling in exercising an employment is exempted up to an amount of RM6,000 per year.

Parking rate or parking allowance
(a) Parking rate or parking allowance received by an employee is exempted from tax. This exemption includes parking rate paid by the employer directly to the parking operator.
(b) The amount of parking rate or parking allowance provided by the employer to his employee has to be reasonable and not excessive.

Meal allowance
(a) Meal allowance received by an employee on a regular basis, for example on a daily or monthly basis, given at the same rate to all employees is exempted from tax.
(b) The amount of meal allowance provided by the employer to his employee has to be reasonable and not excessive.

Child care allowance
Child care allowance received by an employee or paid directly by the employer to the child care center is exempted from tax up to an amount of RM2,400 a year.

Any updates to Public Ruling 2-2013
