That's more or less the same temperature on my ASUS STRIX R9 390 when playing games
Then I proceeded to remove the stock thermal paste
(ASUS use too much!) then replace it with Arctic MX4, temperature drops 8°C. From 98°C to 90°C
Note: ASUS Malaysia allows doing these on their graphic cards
(as long as there are no physical damage):
1. Change thermal paste
2. Change to better heatsink
3. Use liquid cooling
On high load, all 3 fans spins just fine but the temperatures is still at 90°C on load
Hence the reason why I change to PowerColor Devil R9 390X with it's AIO liquid cooler
Now my load temperature never exceeds 70°C. Idle at 42°C. No air-cond in the room
I guess air-cooling is not suitable for R9 390 & 390X
Especially with the current hot weather in Malaysia

i do wanted to do closed watercool, but since my fan failure,
thats why i send for warranty, now it is too late, no card on me.
what to buy with this 1.4k credit... if cash, can easily buy 2hand
cant even buyback 390, 970 wayy pricy than 390
update:
just recently call the distro/supplier
they said that MSI who ask them to give credit to buy new one.
MSI cant find any replace, no sparepart to repair they said.
idk if it is true, or bohong all the way
