Malaysia Can Move Into RM2 Trillion Economy In Seven Years KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's economy now stands at RM1.3 trillion and has the potential to grow to a RM2 trillion economy.
Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said this potential is achievable in seven years if the country's growth remains at five per cent annually.
“Malaysia's economy today is the size of a RM1.3 trillion economy, and according to plans, I want this RM1.3 trillion economy to reach the level of a RM2 trillion economy.
“Calculations show that if growth is at five per cent a year, in seven years we will be a RM2 trillion economy. This is why we have initiated big projects, including the KL-Singapore High-Speed Rail link, the Mass Rapid Transit, Light Rail Transit, East Coast Rail Link, Pan Borneo Highway, Pengerang, Bandar Malaysia, Vision Valley and others," he said in his closing speech at the Umno general assembly today.
Najib said the people will naturally benefit from these mammoth projects as high-income jobs will be created.

Apart from MRT which I believe MMC-Gamuda JV done a pretty good job, no delay and cost within budget, the others still not start hope the project execution is as good as their planning. Malaysia quite good on planning

Hope Sime Darby can start Malaysia Vision Valley fast, BSS shall benefit too.
Please no more delay to sign HSR agreement on 21/12/2016, any delay will diminish investor's confidence.
