I think McG wanna compete with Bay. To see which robots is better. McG uses lots of explosion, we'll see later in Transformers 2 how many explosions there are. But McG forgot that the most important thing about Terminator is the story line and the elements of suspense. Bay doesn't need that. He's going to tell his robots are more colorful and cooler than McG's.

i think the next installment should be more interesting after introducing all the characters ... this one is a bit off track and the story just speed off too quickly ... should have explain more on the time traveling and more on how john connor capture arnie and override it so on and so forth ... if there are more links to T2 storyline would be better!

Terminator robots and cyborgs are in a class of their own in non stop suspense and effective/efficient way of wiping out human from the face of the earth...combine with a simple storyline and a iconic actor, cheap one liners and jokes, previous Terminator movies rocks....I also like the approach of TTSCC of how they portray the machine perspective on the whole thing and also they didn't need to have arnie...cromartie, cameron and the T1001 did a great job in providing the actions (although not much, but very well executed). No doubt, we can't escape to a new perspective of John Henry and Weaver's quest for knowledge that was missing from Terminator movies.

kinda agree with you, McG will never win if its a showdown of robots.

hmmm...I was thinking...

1. How on earth did Marcus reached Skynet first when Connor was doing 300kmh on the Moto-Terminator bike!!...maybe I missed something...hmm...must watch again...
2. This one i wanna get it clear from my mind.....i think I'm wrong....Did Connor took a jeep and try the signal thing on a HK close to skynet? If it was that close, why did he need to travel far with the Terminator bike?

Yeah, I was hoping to watch they capture Arnie, and use the time machine..

Some elements of capturing Terminators and Time Travel (last episode of TTSCC) were covered by TTSCC. Although they could make a more detail explanation of it in the next movie, I think they should cover more of the war either with non stop action thats entertaining rather than going back in time and so forth. I think McG had a hard time as well since most of the period before Judgment day has been covered more or less in previous shows.
Come to think of it, yes we all know senseless killings etc are crude and no brainer way of making a movie, but take note, some movies are so bad that they even get high marks and followings from fanz.
Style, attitude and creative ideas and suspense is also important...that makes arnie so iconic and movies like 'The Matrix' unforgettable no matter whats the ratings.

Lyn professional movie critics? Youve gotta be kidding me, when you go to a movie you have to go with an open mind and forget about all the critisism otherwise it will impair your judgement, here a few type haters on these boards:-

-Bashing the movie just because its directed by an unknown director/for those who have known him for charlie angels.

-Because its not directed by cameron, and that other directors shouldnt be given a chance.

-People criticizing it even before watching, yes i notice a lot does this, just read the previous posts on this thread.

-Transformers fanboyism.

-People who thinks that they are cool by throwing critism because everyone is doing it.

-And not to forget that this is a fiction, nothing has to be real. The timeline, why terminators are throwing around instead of killing j.c

-Christian bale's outrage.

But the main point is that these people has already this mindset at which what their gonna watch is a crapfest, the funny thing is a lot of them sit tightly to their seats until the whole movie is over, cant say the same thing about the spirit or other bad movies where people leave their seats empty, they focus on the whole very detail of it, (some i couldnt remember) so they can criticize later on. Which brings me to a certain posts earlier mentioned where a lot of people dont have a stand or their too afraid to voice out because of the dissing and all the hate pointed out at T.S.

well is juz some typical ppl who think tis is a juz typical movie n throw out typical comment...juz take those comment as reference but the best way is see it urself...

This is a great movie. I like its close connection with The Terminator (1984).

Too bad I missed the premier.

1. dunno.. but since john connor is human, maybe he stopped and took a nap
2. not too sure but i dont think it was close to skynet. i think it was just a zone that was under skynet surveillance. just as the resistance were surprised when skynet launched a number of robots etc when they affirmed kyle reese's identity, and john connor saying they (skynet) dont go this deep territory. thus the resistance also try to go back them up.. so a guess is they just went to a zone close to skynets surveillance where the smoke and fire can be easily detected..
and another bit also... who knows, maybe john connor thought brainwashing the mototerminator could help him infiltrate skynet easier... sure marcus went and disabled the turret, but use any advantage u can get..
