This reminds me of my Celebrity Fitness' monthly auto-debit.
The sad thing is no card I can use to substitute it. 5xTP is better than nothing I guess.

Most of my Autopay/Autoadebit are tied to utilities and insurance.

Great Eastern ---> Visa
TNB (hometown) ---> Visa
TM (hometown) ---> AMEX
Maxis Wireless MBB ---> AMEX

I thought this Visa will stay with longer. doh.gif

For petrol, I need to switch to HSBC Amanah, at least still can get 3% rebate during weekend.

This card, I will keep it since there is no annual fee..only use it during promotions...

The one that will give 8% if you spend more than RM 2k per month.

But the petrol category is tied to 2 to 3 brands only right?

But why their website removed the clause for effective 1st Aug, Amex no more 5% cash back, maybe they want to postpone further ??

maybe yes, maybe no.

with the recent sh!tstorm hits all mbb comm channels, i gues they removed the noticed (for the time being) until they fully evaluated the situation.

it's no fluke mbb posted the notice and wanted to remove the amex 5% cashback... the question is when.

Time to change cc, the sole reason I used mbb2card was to get the 5% cash back.

AMEX is now just a card I use on weekends for expenses other than petrol and groceries. Might as well just cancel this card if it's going to be as useless as its VISA duo.

I've been using Maybank 2 cards since 2011. What a sad moved taken by Maybank to end the amex weekend 5% cashback.

Dear /k sifu,

Any recommendations good cashback cards except uob, pbb, hl and cimb?

Thank you.

/k sifu? are you at the wrong section? laugh.gif
if you exclude all the big banks, what do you expect? tongue.gif
anyway, there's still vva+am1 cc which offering 3% cb per quarter for you to try.

Way to spend my morning... Researching about cc  sweat.gif

So far, I found the alternative... For annual income >RM30K

Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Gold Card = 5% cb on petrol n groceries

MBBAmex = 5% dining as stated

HLB Wise = 10% cb

PB Visa Signature = 6% on dining, groceries and online transcation.

Probably I will cancel MBBAmex and take HLB Wise (therefore increase my spending  doh.gif ) or just use Ikhwan + PB Visa

Those that's running a company might as well apply for their Visa Corporate card which comes with 0.7% cash rebate uncapped with no ridiculous terms

Previously :

MBB2 amex pays my
- Utilities (TnB & TMB) 5%
- Phone (Digi Prepaid) 5%
- Petrol 5%
- Touch n Go 5%

CIMB CR
- Utilities (astro) 5%

Now I guess I will change to :

MBB Ikhwan
- Petrol 5%
- Groceries (Touch n Go & Digi Prepaid)[Both reload at Jaya & Aeon Big] 5%
CIMB CR
- Utilities (astro) 5%
- Utilities (TnB & TMB) 2% <- still figuring out how to make it happen
So the only one that will lost my rebate is:
- Cukai Pintu
- Etiqa Insurance
sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

er, the cimb CR can give 5% for astro? astro is utilities?

QUOTE(amxpayne67 @ Jun 28 2015, 05:46 AM)
The bill payment is probably for paying under UOB's bill payment because when i pay at the service provider website i do get 5% cash back. Government utilities is like paying tax, etc. No harm in trying. I'm also upset because MBB revised their Amex feature. Without 5% cash back on weekend all that's left only 5X TP which already inflated. I am conflicted to cancel the card or not.
*
so U have tested and got back the 5% cashback for tm/tnb/astro bills? Which site u using to pay?

That comes from online spending. Utilities give only 2% SI.
