I normally get by with layering t-shirt, sweater, winter jacket and wear a scarf, ski cap and gloves. Did this in UK, Russia and US. If really really cannot tahan then I add on a light jacket between the winter jacket and sweater.

What kind of temperatures and wind are you expecting?

The winter jacket right, go for those can tahan wind type. Some bergaya tak berguna. When wind blow straight shivering.

Temperature I expect about 12-20 celcius...wind I am not sure. Haha yea need to get a good winter jacket that can fit my big body tongue.gif

Ahh not too bad then. Personally I would use something similar to http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/men-down-.../down/jackets/~. T-shirt and sweater underneath. Only once in a while I need to add a light jacket to the mix since I have low tolerance to cold.

My colleague survived Geneva in Dec wearing the ultra light down though he said it was a bit cold at times.

Macam boleh but not sure. I always test it on first before I decide. Also you might want to get something slightly longer if you can since you're not wearing long johns. Keep in mind you will be layering so don't get too fitting size.

Here's one of the tips i can give you,

get a rubber type fleece and a good outer winter jacket, big size people body tends to be warmer so what you need is to make sure the heat stay inside not circulating to outside.

12c-20c nothing la hahaha, just like staying in full blown 16c aircond with occasional hyper wind icon_idea.gif

Your itinerary 90% same with me but I start at Tokyo and end at Osaka
You need JR Pass. From 1 prefecture to another prefecture it will costly without JR pass. Moreover, if u take normal JR, it take longer time to reach. JR pass also covered JR shinkansen, it will shorter your travel time smile.gif

Regarding Hakone region, JR pass doesn't support..You need to purchase Hakone Free Pass, it more reliable

If you dunno. Dont give false info to others.

Kansai Area are JR kill zone. JR are very limited usage in.
Hakone are totally JR kill zone.
Tokyo also JR kill zone.

Kyoto to Tokyo one way just Rm530.

Why want spent Rm 1100 for JR rail pass? While usage just only 30%

1-Apr --> Tokyo (Tsukuji, Tsukushima, Odaiba, Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro)
2-Apr --> Tokyo (Akihabara entire day)
3-Apr --> Hakone
4-Apr --> Hakone + Kamakura
5-Apr --> Kamakura
6-Apr --> Back to Tokyo (still deciding where to go)
7-Apr --> Depart to Airport (unsure plans)

Bro RC, from my reading, there is JR West pass that can cover kyoto osaka kobe and nara. This JR pass much more cheaper hence i am planning to use this while in Kansai area.

Do u mean JR pass could not be used to ride the same train covered by this JR West pass?

From kyoto to tokyo i am planning to take overnight bus . should save alot of moneh.

Hey guys, I got a question to ask. I've never used the AirAsia flight
to Haneda before. It's supposed to reach at 10.30pm.
How often does this get delayed? I need to plan my way out of
there before the last train/bus for the day. Thanks.

JR rail pass are biggest of all JR pass. It cover whole Japan.
JR west pass are useless if you no planning go Himeji , Okayama , Hiroshima.

Kansai I already mention , it was JR kill zone. JR train are very limited used. Why still waste money on JR passes?

Kansai area are fully cover by Subway , Nankai , Hankyu , Kintetsu. JR just a small actor.

Entire Kansai area only Universal Studio Japan are ezclusive JR line. So you buy that stupid JR pass to ride to USJ only?

I recall when I was checking up on Tokaido shinkansen that you need a separate shinkansen ticket on top of the jr pass except maybe the one that stops most.

I'm planning to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto and Osaka and back to Tokyo. I'll buy a JR Pass as I'm going back to Tokyo. Am wondering, do I need to buy another pass for when I'm in Kyoto/Osaka area (if yes, which pass do you recommend), or pay per ride and use JR Pass whenever possible? Cause I'm aware that JR Pass will have little use in that area. Thanks.

The Japan Rail Pass is not valid or requires a supplement fee in case of the following exceptions:
-Nozomi trains along the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen

you can get the estimation from the link below:

http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/d7522/

I always monitor it. Usually it arrived on time (green). Just that recently the plane departed a bit late, most likely due to the haze in klia i guess. But still around less than 20 minutes late (yellow)
