Hi all,

Planning to go Jipun next year during Sakura.
Planning on end of march to early april
gonna spend there for 2 weeks.

So was thinking to take flight from KL - Narita and return from Fukuoka - KL as I was thinking to go to Hiroshima.

Is that too ambitious?

Or should I only take KL - Narita and return from Osaka - KL instead.

Many thanks.

Be specific a bit. You want to do Tokyo and Hiroshima only in 2 weeks? Or Tokyo and all surrounding areas, then Kansai all areas, then Hiroshima area?
*
Yeah should be that way. Is it enough time or too ambitios?
If too ambitious I think should just take flight from:

KL - Narita / Haneda
Osaka - KL

I am first timer to Japan.

part of my cheapskate plan in Japan is dont want to use shinkansen but bus instead.
From my reading there is Willie bus that quite efficient.

Anyone has tried travelling from Osaka - Nara - Kyoto - Nagoya - Tokyo fully without JR pass?

dowan to drive coz only 2 pipel so driving is wasted.

11 days at Osaka only was not too long.
If you want really betul betul cover full osaka.I can be tour guide.  It takes 90 days fully cover all.
*
bro, is that necessary to get JR pass?
any other way to travel around Osaka to Nara, then from Osaka to Kyoto, Kyoto to Tokyo without JR Pass?
I will be there 13 days, cheapest JR pass valid for 7 days only, afraid underutilize and have to top up for daily pass somemore.

No need JR pass.
It was useless in Kansai Area and Tokyo area. Plus shinkansen ride just one way.

If Shinkansen ride was 2 way then worth it.
*
great then i can save almost 1000 already!
yeah it will be one way coz i balik KL thru tokyo

If you dunno. Dont give false info to others.

Kansai Area are JR kill zone. JR are very limited usage in.
Hakone are totally  JR kill zone.
Tokyo also JR kill zone.

Kyoto to Tokyo one way just Rm530.

Why want spent Rm 1100 for JR rail pass? While usage just only 30%
*
Bro RC, from my reading, there is JR West pass that can cover kyoto osaka kobe and nara. This JR pass much more cheaper hence i am planning to use this while in Kansai area.

Do u mean JR pass could not be used to ride the same train covered by this JR West pass?

From kyoto to tokyo i am planning to take overnight bus . should save alot of moneh.

2-Apr --> Tokyo (Akihabara entire day)
3-Apr --> Hakone
4-Apr --> Hakone + Kamakura
5-Apr --> Kamakura
6-Apr --> Back to Tokyo (still deciding where to go)
7-Apr --> Depart to Airport (unsure plans)

JR rail pass are biggest of all JR pass. It cover whole Japan.
JR west pass are useless if you no planning go Himeji , Okayama  , Hiroshima.

Kansai I already mention , it was JR kill zone. JR train are very limited used. Why still waste money on JR passes?

Kansai area are fully cover by  Subway , Nankai , Hankyu , Kintetsu. JR just a small actor.
Entire Kansai area only Universal Studio Japan are ezclusive JR line.  So you buy that stupid JR pass to ride to USJ only?
*
Thanks. Now i got it. I tot it is JR west and JR is totally different system.

One change I noticed. Previously at inner market only the 'big two' sushi shop will long queue. Nowadays every single shop oso got a dozen ppl outside.

Depends on your definition of 'necessary.' A pocket wifi is most certainly not mandatory; you can get by with just spotty wifi hotspots and asking for directions from random strangers. But for me I always rent so I can whip up a quick google search or directions whenever things don't go exactly as planned.

Anyway reporting in from Sapporo/Otaru. Today the weather farked up our plans entirely. Rained the whole day + winds were the Destroyer of Umbrellas kind. Saw aunties and salarymen getting soaked after the winds turned their umbrellas inside out lol.
*
what brand u use?
and the rate how?

most i survey very expensive, 14days usage easily cost me rm300++

I want to go to Shirakawa Go

which is better

1) direct from Kyoto, day trip
2) go to Kanazawa, spend a night there, next morning go to Shirakawa Go

Is it worth it to spend 2 nights in Kanazawa?

Asked friends who went Japun before they said nothing to see there.
