Hi Sifu sekalian,

Going to Japan from 13/12 to 21/12. First time.

Option 1. Take train to Kawaguchiko stn. Pay extra JPY1,140 for Fujikyu rail.
Option 2. Take bus to Kawaguchiko stn. Pay JPY1,750.
Leave Kawaguchiko about 3pm.
Option 1. Take bus to Odawara stn. Take JR Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Option 2. Take bus/train to Shinagawa stn and meet up with 2nd grp arriving ANA 3.50pm. Then take Shinkansen to Kyoto.

Day 3: Kyoto

Day 4: Kyoto to Kanazawa

Day 5/6: Kanazawa

Day 7: Kanazawa to Yudanaka

Day 8: Yudanaka to Tokyo

Day 9: Back to KL on 5.15pm flight

Need some help on Day 2 itinerary. Bus or train to Kawaguchiko view nicer? Seems also like no bus up to 5th station in December.

The rest of the itinerary still compiling. Not asking yet. Still doing homework. Now stuck at Day 2.

Thanks in advance.

Totally Crap!!!! Ur Time management are totally Out.

1 Hour 30 Minute at Tokyo National Museum> after minus the Q time , Transportation time... Not Enough. U not even can see 40% of that museum.
2 Hour at Akibahara? Impossible. One Yodobashi Akiba mall already need spent 5 hour
2 Hour at Ginza? Impossible U go one Burberry shop already used up all.
Tokyo Tower and Roppongi only can choose either one. You think Tokyo Tower are fully open for you alone only? No need Q? After Tokyo Tower , Roppongi Hill almost all shop already closed.

0700 go Sushi Dai? People go at Morning 0530 also need Q for 1 hour....u go at 0700? 1100 only ur turn.
Disneyland are full day. u think Disney also open for u alone ? Each thing also need Q more than 20 - 30 minute.
Shibuya are extremely Big.....need half day job. Harajuku also the same.

Cut the Nagoya 1 day put it back to Tokyo Side.

Hi sifus,

Is Harajuku and Shibuya worth going on 1st Jan? I know a lot of shops will be closed, but is it worth it to go walk around? What about at Ginza?

Or else, where else do you recommend to go during 1st Jan (other than temples)?

Im dilemma whether wanna visit or not to Hakone because I have limited time and I also wanna visit Fuji Q. So, need 2 days to go Hakone area if I wanna visit Hakone. Since owakudani still close and u said that "goto hakone but cant goto owakudani is like never visit hakone", is it still worth it to visit Hakone?

need some advice on train passes.

Am planning to do both Tokyo and Hakone, over 9 days during Christmas period. Flying into NRT. Because its a relatively bigger group (6 pax, with parents) am thinking to taking the JR Narita Express.

Am considering either the Seishun 18 Kippu, JE East Pass or the Kanto Area Pass

My problem with the East Pass is that I think is not as worth because we're only going to Hakone. Meanwhile, the Kanto Area Pass is only for 3 consecutive calendar days. Would it be best to couple the 18 Kippu with a Fuji Hakone Pass or Hakone Free pass?

Worth mentioning also that am planning to spend 1-2 nights in Hakone/Five Lakes area.

Also, worth going to any gardens during that time of year? Or will all the trees be bald then?

18 kippu pass is one of most useless pass in Japan.
You cannot used it on any Shinkansen and any limited express train. Only for slowest local train.

Plus you say just going lake kawaguchiko and Hakone only plus the rest are Tokyo. Totally no need any Kippu pass.

Just buy Pasmo or Suica for Metro and one Fuji Hakoneu Pass

If Im following this guide:

Your starting point will be Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station take JR Chuo Main Line (JR 中央本線) to Otsuki Station (大月駅). Once you reach Otsuki Station then change to Fujikyuko Line (富士急行線) all the way to last station which is Kawaguchiko Station (河口湖駅)

am I able to take romance car?
