My schedule in Japan trip below:-
17-20Nov
Tokyo
20-21/Nov
Hakone
21-22/Nov
Nagoya
22-24/Nov
Kyoto
24-27/Nov
Osaka
Plan to be relax and easy, not too rush since this is my first lifetime with backpack and together with my 2 children. Currently still in planning of my journey.
Any sifu advice below:-
1) Do I need to buy JR/Osaka Amazing/Kyoto Day/Tokyo Day Pass for example?
2) Roughly how much to allocate on transportation on my journey?
Hope can get some answers to help on my planning. Thanks.

For this 2 question, you can try to see the ticket fare using hyperdia.com and compare which is more worthwhile. Usually a mix of passes will be useful.

As there are too many options available where I not familiar with so many transport system available, any suggestion of what type of pass I should buy in various place I planned to visit?

Totally Crap!!!!  Ur Time management are totally Out.

1 Hour 30 Minute at Tokyo National Museum> after minus the Q time , Transportation time... Not Enough. U not even can see 40% of that museum.
2 Hour at Akibahara?  Impossible. One Yodobashi Akiba mall already need spent 5 hour
2 Hour at Ginza? Impossible  U go one Burberry shop already used up all.
Tokyo Tower and Roppongi only can choose either one.  You think Tokyo Tower are fully open for you alone only? No need Q? After Tokyo Tower , Roppongi Hill almost all shop already closed.

0700 go Sushi Dai?  People go at Morning 0530 also need Q for 1 hour....u go at 0700?  1100 only ur turn.
Disneyland are full day.  u think Disney also open for u alone ? Each thing also need Q more than 20 - 30 minute.
Shibuya are extremely Big.....need half day job. Harajuku also the same.

Cut the Nagoya 1 day put it back to Tokyo Side.

super duper packed itinerary. u r being too ambitious. If there is a scale of 1 to 10, u are at 10. have u even factored in traveling time? walking to station and etc.
*
Yes, doing the necessary adjustment. tongue.gif Otherwise, it will be super tiring trip rather than relax & enjoying trip. Thanks.

I suggest you return it when you at Osaka Itami Airport.

You can ask them "can I return at Osaka Itami" when you first get ur router. Should be no problem.

Narita Airport are extremly busy and Terminal one from security post to gate need take satelit transit train.

1 hour 30 minute too risky. Can be done if you very well know Narita Airport.

Thanks RegentCid for the pointer.

If you mean while leaving Japan, the customs will rarely ever check. In the small chance the customs are there and check, then you just tell them the items are with you but in your checked luggage. If the officer really bad mood or you face problem they can arrange with the airline to retrieve your luggage and then open and check if you're telling the truth.

But unless you're buying tens of thousands of ringgit of stuff to siam thousands of ringgit in tax I doubt you will kena.

if u are going to kawaguchiko area, during the day the temperature was around 16c and night was around 9c

As for others like tokyo, kyoto and osaka, daytime around 20 - 22c and night around 16 - 18c. for kids maybe should wear light jackets i guess if they cant tahan. just like walking in an aircond room  biggrin.gif
my samsung was fine without any problem when connecting to the pocket wifi all day long

I be at Hakone, so I think it should be about the same or slightly better than kawaguchiko.

Thanks bro.

Is personal wifi is must?

I read now that it has many free hot spot for tourist like  http://wi2.co.jp/en/300/area/

Just register http://www.haneda-tokyo-access.com/en/info...wifi/index.html
*
I think it is very much depend on yourself. Pocket WIFI provide convenient on always connected on almost everywhere especially when u lost or try to locate any destination anytime. Free hot spot is selected location but safe cost for sure.
