Yups, like what deani said, the Malsingmaps are free to download but there is a need to contribute things like POI, tracks, etc. in order to be eligible for update d/ls...

If i'm not wrong, the last map that can be downloaded for "free" is the one for July 2007...

don't expose it under the sun all day. u don't need it that much anyway. normally if the sun is too hot, i'll put it under the the shadow of the a-pillar.

Added on April 8, 2008, 7:44 pmmalsingmaps do not want money for their map, they want people to contribute POI/Track Log/Error reporting etc....

IMHO, for car navigation, Nuvi series is the safest bet in this part of the world due to malsingmap.

If i would like to update my maps it cost $$$ aswell ?
Let's say Malsing map is free right ? so there'll be no charges aye ?

I'm thinking to get Nuvi 200W as i travel alot , so do you think it's wise to get it ?
Ahh , just notice this is the PDAs and Mobile computing section.  blush.gif

Among popular BT GPS brand in Malaysia. Make sure it use SIRF III chip or MK1000 (if I'm not mistaken).

Hmmm, very affordable price... If i'm not wrong, this is even cheaper than that locally-made Gophers GPS, which is going for around M$800+...

What software are you using now? Nokia maps? Try be in the open sky place to get satellite fix. Please be patient sometime it will take more than 10 minutes to get a satellite fix for the first time.
