Check out http://www.internettrafficreport.com/. Asia in general seems to be having tons of problems. 17% average packet loss is nuts.

Thanks RapTor!
Looks like the 218.xxx.xxx.xxx uses a different IP gateway to connect to Worldnet!! More question RapTor.... Are you using the 512kbps package? The reason I'm asking is that I'm using the 1mbps package and for the life of me I cannot connect to the 218.xxx.xxx.xxx network. Not too sure if the Streamyx IP list is area dependant or package dependant.

fly, if you were to click in further into the country details you will find that Malaysia's latency is around 250-350ms and ZERO packet losses (based on Jaring's backbone). Which pretty good in comparison with Singapore's.

Note that it does not include ALL routers (eg TMNET) in the list as this is an independant service. So the traffic representation is not really accurate (India has 100% packet loss!!!, you think?), but its a good indication in a general sense.

I called Streamyx help center earlier hoping to explain the latency problem some of us are facing in the 219.xxx.xxx.xxx domain. A lady picked up the phone and I proceeded to explain the situation to her. Man, she is so 'blur'! She don't even know what latency is! So I told her to get her supervisor so that I can explain it to him. This fellow knows what LAG is, so I thought maybe I can explain it easier to him.

I told him about how some of us who is in IP domain 218.xxx.xxx.xxx can play WoW with minimal latency and those in IP domain 219.xxx.xxx.xxx.
He act like he knows and promptly tell me that it is a games issue and ask me to contact WoW instead. I went 'bengang' and told him that the lag started even before it hit WoW servers because I did a traceroute.

You know what? He don't even know what traceroute means!!! GAWD!! So I proceeded to explain what that means...... After telling him all that, he was at loss of what to do. So he told me to give him my H/P number and he will call me back (,fat chance).

I've been dealing with Streamyx for quite sometime now, at work and in my own personal capacity. So I asked for a service report number.... heheh.
He got smart and tells me, he's not too sure if this problem can be reported (because he don't know) and insist that he will have to check it first and call me back later. HAHAHAHAH!

Soooo... for all those who is connected to 219.xxx.xxx.xxx, learn to live with the lag.... cos the TMNET Helpcenters are operated by...... Telephone Operators.... not technicians.

I'm on the 512 package.. I'm lucky as whenever i try to spam reconnect, i can still get a 218.xxx ip range. Sometimes it takes a few tries, sometimes a coupla min :/

219.94.xxx used to be ok but it has gone down the drain since last Monday. Since there's and announcement made, lets hope it gets better come next week!

aizyou, you're right about server lags. I did mention about this in a earlier post.

Here an example of the kinda lag I'm facing right now :

Lag from Streamy to Blizzard servers : 1300+ms
Lag from Blizzard servers itself : 700+ms

Total lag in-game : 2000+ms

my friend from Singapore is facing around 1300+ms lags yesterday. So I guess, even their international link is facing some problems.

you gonna get the same cos TMNET is doing 'maintennence' on their international link to the US. It will only be fixed by Monday next week.

I think its most probably from the said TMNET disruptions. Remember we don't usually have latency over 800 but right after the patch on our time Wednesday morning, we can't log on that much and those that manages to log on acknowledge about the lag and stuff. Then on the very next day, TMNET does a maintenance to its US link and I guess thats badly affects our main link to the WoW gateway.

I have never ever gotten above 800+..usually hovers around 500-600ms with an occasional 400-500ms lvl range and I live in Subang Jaya. And each time the latency is bad, there is always the news on streamyx about maintenance and upgrade. So I hope everything will work out this Monday onwards...and since they said its an upgrade, it will be cool if we can stay in the constant range of 400-500ms....means yellow bar all the time...

PLEASE DO WORK cause I can't play with latency above 2000ms and sometimes even getting 5000ms lol.
