QUOTE(tarpaucase @ Apr 26 2005, 10:55 AM) You can only get 219.94 IF ... you have seen yourself getting that IP before. Some areas are definitely restricted to having only 219.95 IPs so you might not need to try resetting over and over.. Well... I've gotten 60.x.x.x, 218.x.x.x, 219.95.x.x so I might have chance to get that one. Have to go back and try tonight. |

OMFG... That's speed test is just plain stupid. What use if you just test the speed for packets travel within malaysia while most of the traffics go OUTSIDE of m'sia??!?!?

QUOTE(ionStorm @ Apr 27 2005, 05:09 PM) Mine's usually about 800-900ms. Quite playable. Let us know the result of the smaller MTU setting. I'm thinking of lowering the MTU on my side, in hopes of smaller packets, hence faster transactions...humm...just crossing fingers. 25 mins before I get home...arghh... |

that one have to use telnet and use console command to do it. I don't have the command manual with me right now but I can check for you later when I back home.

shouldn't be router problem unless you didn't setup the NAT properly. but then if you didn't setup NAT, you can't login at all. i doubt that it's your router causing the high latency but more to streamyx internal problem. I got dc like 15 times in an hour because of their dslam vc failure but my lat is like 500++ when i'm able to log in back.
(linksys of cisco home/soho user division produce good routers btw |

QUOTE(Morpheus2be @ Jun 7 2005, 08:29 AM) All I can say, I've had horrible problems with Streamyx, e.g; my 5 hour death marathon resulting in me progressing one measly level, and that is level 7 to level 8! I not sure what problem you have with streamyx but it has already been recovered for quite some time already. Only got like few minor spikes in a week.Last weekend, I went back to my Kampung in Batu Pahat. Don't have Streamyx there, but I can use dialup. Guess what, I must've spent 10hours playing WoW, and got my character from lvl 8 to lvl 18! I even managed to do some instances (finally! without any disconnects!). Latency around 700-900 range all the way. Man! Dialup is the way to go for WoW, especially with Streamyx in its current state. This post has been edited by da3shou3: Jun 7 2005, 09:24 AM |

lol even from house to house nearby the connection performance is inconsistant. I think better you ask someone who got an active account to try at your house see gameplay smooth or not rather then asking ppl playing at other place.

I think it's more area problem rather then IP range problem (although they're somehow related to the problems). At my place, any IP i connect also ok. While others having lag and as such, I'm fine with my connection.
