I'd say your video card and driver are way outdated for WoW. If u have a bit of budget, go for the 6600GT video card and get the latest driver from nVidia website.
That would help smile.gif

I just bought WOW and installed it for the first time. It downloaded the 1.11 patch after I have created my account (all the screens seem normal here).

Right after my patch installed itself and WoW auto launched the start screen (User Agreement) and all the following screens were scrambled. There were bits of graphics flickering and obscuring the view of the screen.

I don't know if the patch file is corrupted or not (it installed without any issues) but I'm now downloading it manually...which will take hours on my connection. Paid good money for this game and it isn't even working properly in order to play it  first time round....

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue. My system specs are as follows:

Athlon 1.4GHz
Nvidia GF3 64mb @31.40 drivers
Windows 2000 @ DirectX9.0c
512mb DDR RAM

anyone else getting sudden latency problems of 2-10k in the past few days since 9pm on the 9th of July? My connection has always been ok (500-700ms) but since that day i have so much lag. I never disconnect my modem or router so whatever Ip it must be same as b4.
I live in Ampang area and i also tried conenction in cyberjaya. same thing, since that day both area also have bad latency. How do i fix this? is streamyx doing soem maintenance?

I just upgraded from windows 2000 to Win XP and that solved the patching problems. WoW works quite well on my system. However it lags a bit in big cities. Might upgrade later but for the time being the game is playable....quite beautifully done game actually smile.gif

I'm on oceania servers...the top 2 servers...can't remember the names

Proxy? isn't that usually via a corporate network?
I doubt it will have any improvement on the latency, unless you're playing on a company's 2 Mbps line or better. smile.gif

All servers for the North American version of WoW are in the US. The Oceanic servers are also in the US, but on the east coast I believe. Oceanic servers were made to cater for players in our timezone, meaning having servers with +8gmt timestamp so players in our timezone can gather in the same server, how servers on the east coast in the US are meant to cater for east coast players. You can choose which server you want to play in, but it'll affect your experience with the server community if you join a server where players are 12hrs or more behind our time.

Waaaah for like the past week+ I have been lagging straight from midnight to like noon. Its so reliable, will kick me off, lag starts like mad, then at noon or so, kicks me off, and connection is fine. I am SOOOO frustrated right now. And some days it lags me straight up for the whole day. Anyone know why this is happening/how to fix it? sad.gif

Help me! sad.gif

anyone living in the ampay/jalan jeltak/setiawangsa area having any problems on their 1mb tmnut connection? i have an account but i am afraid to renew it cuz of the lag. never had problems playing on the one meg connection in thailand. *sigh...i thought malaysia would catch up to its neighbors in terms of internet connection speed reliability. seems more like we're worst off...thanks to tmnut and their bullcrap of course!

sigh. I had to lag on wow the entire day today. Raiding or bging with a 10 second lag, with periodic 30 sec lag outs is really frustrating. DOWN WITH TMNUT. If only jaring flite covered Malacca

Hi, I just checked my FPS for WOW for all areas and it is fixed at 30fps....is this ok? Shouldn't it be higher?

I heard it has something to do with vertical sync...If I disable it will go higher?
