You can actually check out the fees at the CFA website itself. All are in USD, it includes the textbooks.

Yup, actually I have went to the website. It stated $1175 for level 1, 2, 3 & stated $420 is for first initial registration as member. Does that means (1175-420) x 3 = will get the total sum for the entire course?

How about the yearly subscription of being a CFA members?

I have decided to sit for level 1 exam in Dec. smile.gif Hopefully it's never too late for the decision to be made. I have no financial & accounting related knowledge; hopefully I'm still able to cope well & wont let go easily.

What did you major in, if you don't mind me asking? All the best to you.

Something interest to note is December exams usually have a lower passing rate compared to June but as long as you work hard, you should be in the passing group. =)

I'm majoring in Marketing, more of a business background. Thanks!

Really have a lower passing rate? Sigh, I am kind of worried. Anyway, I am signing up weekend classes for my level 1. Hopefully it does help.

Kasturi?

Just focus in class, read through the textbooks, and remember to note all the key points.

Start studying ahead before class. It will help a lot.

Guys, reading through the level 1 textbooks is easier? Or should I buy other textbooks for reference? Was thinking whether the textbooks provided are sufficient or not, what are your recommendations? If not, I will probably just opt for the E-book version and buy other books for study, saves me 20 bucks man, dayumn.

Ima registering for next year's June paper, asking opinion from experienced candidates dawg.

I believe you shouldn't opt for the ebook cause' Kaplan Schewer IIRC cost a bomb unless you want to go the pirate way.

It's just 20USD, doesn't matter much. Plus, if you opt for the e-book, I don't think you will be able to download it, it's about a few GB's worth. LOL

Plus, you'll get the book within a few days after registration. But since you are sitting for June's sitting, I don't think you can register that early for the exam.

Then you should just register ASAP and get the books right away and start studying then. I don't think the difference in study materials really matters. It all depends on your practice questions IMO.

Hey guys, with CFA n your bag, what is the rough job opportunities i may get and it's responsibilities? I am way too lazy to pick up FSA (not that it is easy to pass), so was wondering if CFA be a good alternative.

Specially going into product development or risk management departments
