How do you guys register for December exam? Why inside CFA website cannot find? Sigh, I am too dumb. And, how do you guys register for its membership? Need sponsors right? What should we do? I am freshie.

Check this for CFA registration. You need to create an online account first in CFA's website before you can register. You don't need any sponsor for registering into CFA exams, you just need to pay online.
http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogram/pro...ages/index.aspx

To become CFA member, you need 2 sponsors, and one of the sponsors must be a CFA Charteredholder, another sponsor can be either a CFA Charteredholder or your boss.

But you need to pay fees to maintain your membership, so I suggest you only start to apply for CFA membership after you passed all the CFA exams and close to accumulate the 4-year relevant working experience.

Hey guys, with CFA n your bag, what is the rough job opportunities i may get and it's responsibilities? I am way too lazy to pick up FSA (not that it is easy to pass), so was wondering if CFA be a good alternative.

Specially going into product development or risk management departments

You do not need a CFA qualification to work in product development or risk management. The name of CFA can tell, it is an analyst-oriented certification.

Get 2 sponsors and apply for CFA Institute membership, then accumulate 4-year relevant working experience to upgrade to CFA Chartered.

That's verbatim from their website. I know the part about the two sponsors. One's my supervisor and the other one is a regular member of the CFA association. So what do I request from my sponsors? Do I give them something, a form or email or anything? What would be required from them? And what if I don't know anyone who is a regular member with a CFA charter?

Not sure why I have not seen much jobs on jobstreet from IB stating CFA as a requirement.

Do they not advertise jobs that require CFA on jobstreet?

How's everyone preparation for the December exam? I'm just about to start & I'm thinking to start a FB group. Maybe all December Level 1 candidates to share, to ask or to interact and learn from each other.

I am not Kasturi's student but I don't think Kasturi is able to register the exam for you. You can only do it by yourself as Sunway told me that CFA does not permit tuition provider register on behalf of student. They can only register by themselves. smile.gif

You have been cheated by your consultant. A simple check through the CFA Institute will tell you that there are no exemptions given for any levels of the exam.

Cannot answer your question because this depends on individual's capability on studying. For myself, just studying the CFA books are more than enough, I don't even have extra time to read other non-CFA books.
