QUOTE(narfey @ Nov 14 2008, 07:24 PM) correct me if i'm wrong, but in order to take the exam (in this case i'm referring to CFA level 1);you don't need to have an undergrad degree or working experience prior to that. you just need to register with CFA institute. as easy as abc. but it is a different scenario to hold a CFA charter. to hold a CFA charter requires you to pass all the 3 level, have a degree and 4 years related working experience. Nope, even the LVL 1 exams require you to have the work exp and degree... |

QUOTE(maxtek @ Nov 14 2008, 08:35 PM) Is it true? I was at MIM asking about the course, for Level 1, the counsellor told me that a degree is needed, but not necessarily the work experience in finance (unless you're talking about working experience in general). |

Anyway my dad goes to US for to mark the exam papers every year. So if you get CFA uh recognition? Then can go US every year, no need pay expense and room charge. Actually I dunno much about CFA. Finance is not really my thing, though I've looked through all his textbooks. Oh my dad said, you don't need to attend courses actually for level 1. Just read through the textbook and you can ace the exam. |

No you don't need to pay for it. It should be free. If you need to pay, you're in the wrong website.

....its amazing how people cant post nonsense and yet plan to take it??
To take your level 1 exam you have to be at least in your final year of degree To qualify for your chartered you need pass all 3 levels, join the CFA society, get 2 sponsors and 4 years of relevant working experience. Lastly, CFA is actually a course which is more gear towards portfolio management/asset management at the later levels. So unless you intend to be a fund manager there is really no requirement to take this course... |
