Yes, this box only needs to use official release of AOTG, maybe past versions but not any modded version.

I am using Ogyoutube 2.0 (non root version) and microG 1.2.

This version doesn't require Google Playstore, Google Services or Google Framework.

Yes, If you know how to do it safely without crippling the device..
No, If you don't or are not bothered.

Remember, If it's not broken, don't go fixing.

Same here, love having my devices and software all up to date where possible. Even if it means resorting to custom ROMs, Builds, etc..

Hmm, consequences would be;
*Google Play Store removed.
*File Explorers, Kodi, etc removed. Also means, (as pointed out) you do lose out on the ability to side-load apps.
*Access to Google's main Android setting is gone.
*Maintenance code changed.

These are the ones I can think of at the moment.

noted thanks for the info.
I dont mind having playstore removed, as most apps are downloaded using APKPure usually.
Also dont mind if Kodi is removed. Im looking for either SPMC or FTMC currently.
For file explorer, currently using FX, will it be removed to?

except the uncertainty for FX explorer being removed, i have nothing to loose eh? laugh.gif

As earlier, if it ain't broke..don't go fixing. The previously "new" firmware was compromised and by now the tech folks would have known about it and as the older firmware, maybe prepared a patch. So for all you know, you won't be upgrading to the new firmware but an even newer one. So please go ahead and update it. We would love to know the outcome.

Was bored by the default launcher, but I found something.

Change HyppTV Launcher

Also thinking if chokia uses this launcher.

Yes i use the same launcher, very light and fast. People are starting to create alternative icons for it too. You can also create yours.

Only gripe you don't see any notifications anymore i.e- disk mounted etc

The TM white box has very low memory available even after a factory restore. You need to how how to removed other apps that is not useful to free up the space for the apps you wanted.

These box are okay. Is working fine for me if you now what that work best with it and how to install.

Utilize something that is free and make the best out of it. smile.gif

Too bad and not unsurprising.. Try gaikon's suggestion.

Free isn't always good... It's 2017 boss.. No reason to continue living like "cave men"... No use building a tinder nest, making notches and spinning to get fire, just striking a match or lighter will do.. tongue.gif Call it, me being older or having the budget. I'd rather have a not so expensive - expensive device that powers on, does ALL I require as per current popular media capabilities, and goes to sleep/shuts down like a boss, than a device I have to constantly cajole into playing or performing the basics of tasks. biggrin.gif
