Why don't just use HyppTV Everywhere apk?

Hmmm, if TM did their job correctly (guessing they did)... It won't work, as there should be a whole lot more beyond just plugging a random android box to the LAN 4 port and running that apk.. Said apk could also be dependent on other system services (proprietary software).. Unless you've got maxed out HDMI-IN ports on the TV, don't see why you can't have seperate devices hooked up.
Cuz resolution and ease of use. 

You can't use the extracted APK from the hyppTV and expect it to work on other android box because TM locked device MAC address with your hyppTV account. TM only allow box hyppTV per account. You can try giving TM your new android box MAC address and tell them that your old box is broken and your warranty expired.
I fully use WiFi for both HyppTV and IPTV. The trick is to link your hyppTV LAN 4 port to VAP to make it work over WiFi. I already mentioned the method and link in this thread, just search for it. (or just click here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3790881/all ). But if your RG the latest one, the method are different but the principal still the same.

IF you use wifi, for hassle free connection:
For hyppTV: use DHCP
For IPTV/Internet/YouTube/etc: use static address with DNS as 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4.
(if you use DHCP, its difficult to get gateway connection since the box by default maintain gateway to hyppTV server 10.*.*.* instead 192.168.0.1 for internet)

Delete the server url.

Same here, love having my devices and software all up to date where possible. Even if it means resorting to custom ROMs, Builds, etc..

Hmm, consequences would be;
*Google Play Store removed.
*File Explorers, Kodi, etc removed. Also means, (as pointed out) you do lose out on the ability to side-load apps.
*Access to Google's main Android setting is gone.
*Maintenance code changed.

These are the ones I can think of at the moment.

the lan connection is only use for hypptv so other apps that using internet wont work on it. need to use wifi. if want to use lan dont connec to lan port using for hypptv

I'm also using it with my IPS monitor which has no sound output, so just HDMI for video and external speaker for audio.

I haven't tried USB audio splitter or this box as I have given it to my sister who is using it with TV.

My own box is using USB audio splitter and it works.

I think they used different pin configuration. you might want to try to solder your own 3.5mm jack that comes with 4 section.

Today I'm going to utilise my dusty HyppTV box I got since I subscribed to Streamyx 8Mbps one year ago.

Previously I've dove several mod/apks to this STB.
But as I never turn on this box for a year, many apps become obselete, especually Kodi addons.

1. I'm going to factory reset this STB. After finished, you guys recommended me to OTA update the STB or no? Is there any benefits of updating it regardless I'm not using for HyppTV viewing anyway. (On Unifi 10Mbps Lite, so no STB functionality).

2. Which version of Kodi do you recommend. AFAIK there are SPMC, FTC, MyGica, and so on...

3. Any good TV launcher to use? If can no disrupting ads.

If I tag a iptv vlan to wifi on main router, then use repeater and connect the iptv box via ethernet, i wonder if the hypptv will play?

anyone ever tried this setup? I've tried connecting the iptv via wifi tagged vlan, but doesnt work anymore.

Hi. im using iflix with the STB, but the streaming not smooth. Always lag.

Use our tried and tested CTRL J method. Save yourself from the headache trying to figure out how to get playstore to work. Unless you know how rip, mod and rebuild a rom, I would not advise it. There's no real need to add playstore and the bulk of google stuff that comes with on such a low powered box.
I've already given up on Kodi. Too much hassle for so little. Now I just stick to standalone apps for streaming. Among others :

For everything else in between there's always a streaming site somewhere to use with firefox

Oh, btw, I have all this loaded on my main droid box. There's no way the tm stb can handle so many apps without crapping itself. Just install what you need. I'd recommend morpheus tv first.
