"RM0. CRT DIY Package renewed. Next renewal 02/06/2015 at RM3 (Excl. GST). To unsubscribe, dial *131# > Manage CRT or visit www.musicunlimited.com."

I have never subscribed to this package, so please terminate this subscription immediately.
Please disable the voice mail also.

Hello,

My girlfriend and I keep receiving these SMS as well. We NEVER subscribe to this service and both of us keep being charged every month for 3 RM.

I tried *131# and I could not find a way of deactivating the option. I worked for 13 years in telephony industry and I have never seen something like that...

I can provide both phone numbers by PM.

This has been one hell of a bad experience from your company.
Deliberately having the caller ringtone on default on every new user who purchased a new SIM card and have no way to CANCEL IT unless we come to LOWYAT, to disclose our phone number just for us to cancel a feature users never wanted for ?
It's really a freaking joke.

There are so many complaints against Hotlink for the AUTO PURCHASE of this CRT. Please complaint ot CFM for further actions. Many unsuspecting consumers have their credit deducted without them knowing it.

Hi, there's an issue with the *131# menu. My colleague who's a foreigner got this message for the DIY CRT package, and even me as a local was struggling to work the menu to unsubscribe. I think you guys need to get a UI/UX person involved to make the process a bit smoother, and have an easy option for an English menu.

For years subscribers have been robbed of their hard earned money through this auto subscribed CRT service. It's time to stop such unethical business conduct. Report to MCMC and consumer associations.

Also send an email to Maxis that every time they auto deduct RM3 and auto load CRT to you, they agreed to pay you RM10 each day for using the unsolicited service. Then file a claim. If every one does that, such unethical practices from telcos would be reduced.

But a part from Maxis, I also asked SKMM can't they do anything when thousands of users affected. No answer.

We have terminated the service based on his request and a one time refund has been accorded as a gesture of goodwill.

Fucking arrogant!!!! You stole my money and now you say it's a gesture of goodwill to refund it. And it's not even refunded yet!!!!

Why asked possible for refund? It's your money. And it took just few minutes to report to SKMM.

I even reported my RM1 charged by maxispay when their system failed to refund when they verify my credit card. Most probably purposely. They just send 1 command to verify and charge and refund will be done together. That is why you can't see it in your statement. Some bank may still trigger SMS notification.

If no refund then they just not using the standard verify procedure where they just charge and keep the money.

I only just realized that RM 3 had been deducted last month and this month without even knowing that I was subscribed to this service (which I did not sign up and do not want!). I tried to unsubscribe via *131# but not sure if it was successful because there was no feedback. The website was impossible to navigate. Please terminate this service immediately and give me a refund.

Why does Hotlink keep auto subscribing us to this CRT service even when we do not want it? Keep losing my credit that I top-up with real money for this virtual non-existent service that I do not even want in the first place.

Hi all,

I just managed to unsubscribe to this silly thing (I think!). Hotlink doesn't seem to be responding, so better unsubscribe before get charged again in the next cycle.

Dial *131#
Reply '5' for Manage CRT
Reply '1' for CRT DIY Package
Reply '4' for Delete Package, it will then show you the package that you have been unknowingly subscribed to
Reply the number for the package (mine was '1')
It will then ask you to confirm proceed, just proceed
After that, it will say that you will receive an SMS confirmation (took about 5 minutes for the sms to come in).
Once the SMS comes in, you can follow the exact same steps until 'Delete Package', then it should return with the message 'You are not subscribed to a CRT DIY Package', and I think that should be it?

Unless Hotlink automatically subscribe us to it AGAIN without our consent! 😡😡

Hi hotlink please cancel mine as well as I've never given consent on subscribing to CRT DIY. Please shoot me a PM and I will give you my details.

To others, let's report to SKMM's facebook as this is unethical practice by maxis/hotlink. Yes they give us 3 days notice before renewing the package but in NO WAY they include the correct procedures to do so. This is proven by the mass complaints received in this thread.

The so-called 'notice' too is sent in English, so what about customers who don't speak or write in English, I bet the complaints received in this thread don't even represent 1% of scammed customers.

I'm going to move away from maxis as soon as this active period ends vmad.gif

Excerpts from my call to Maxis' 123 (Yes you can cancel CRT DIY by calling 123, and claim your RM3 back).

- Customers have to cancel the package on their own. Not doing so means they 'agreed' to be charged with RM 3/month.
- No luck for customers who can't understand English (my auto renewal message at least came in English). This is why education is important folks.
- The customer service personnel who helped me admitted that the current method to cancel the CRT DIY package is inconvenient. I say it's purposedly made so, hence customers are unlikely to cancel the renewal.

Didnt notice it was deducting from my balance for several months until today

Can you explain what does the crt package does?
Why my number is subscribed to it?
Didnt notice it was deducting from my balance for several months until today

I tried to call my own number from another phone and its so funny because its just the normal ringtone and i was charged rm3 per month...... mad.gif

I noticed I had a CRT tagged to my phone number without subscribing to any CRT package or anything. I've tried checking using the *100# menu and it says I'm not subscribed to anything. I want to get rid of it, am using a hotlink number.

My wife and I each received a text stating our "CRT DIY Package will be renewed on 11/10/2016 at RM3. We never ordered this service. We do not want this service. We want our money refunded.

There are many people complaining about the same problem. It seems Maxis is being fraudulent by charging people for a service they never ordered. I suppose they think most people will either not notice or not complain about a RM3 charge each month.

I do not want to list our phone numbers on a public forum. Is there some other way to contact Maxis?

Calling *131# does not work.

I called customer service at 123, but I only get a recording in Malay.

I find Maxis very difficult to deal with.

Hello, I have never subscribed to this, and I get this message every month. Whenever I dial *131# to remove it, I get a message saying it's removed BUT the music ringtone is still there.

Hi Maxis,

My mobile number has been auto renewed for CRT service on 10/12/2016.

I have called maxis to cancel CRT service, since it only renewed 2 days ago. Can I get back my RM3?

This is not good to charge your client without their permission. This post started one and half year ago, maxis still charge their client as they like to.

just terminate my crt at maxis counter

why u imposed crt package?

after that i tried to cancel package but couldn't avail.

how many people don't bother how to cancel times rm3 per month that is how much money maxis stealing from user.

Hi, new Hotlink Fast comes together with the Caller Ringtone Package. You can deactivate by below procedure :

Step 1: Dial *131#
Step 2: Select Music & Contests
Step 3: Select Manage CRT
Step 4: To Delete :

​CRT ala carte, choose Delete CRT

CRT package, choose Delete CRT Package
Step 5: Caller Ringtone Playlist will be displayed

Reply with the CRT you want to delete i.e. Reply 1 for song listed as 1​
Step 6: Susbcriber will be prompted "You are about to delete <song title> from your playlist "​
Step 7: Answer Proceed to delete or Back to change your selection

​Reply once Proceed, “Your request is being processed. Please wait for confirmation SMS”
Step 8: Subscriber will receive an SMS from Maxis or Hotlink after deletion:“You have successfully terminated Caller Ringtone : <song title>”​

Maxis should really not activate this feature by default and expect the customer to cancel.

This opt out is totally unacceptable in most western countries although we appreciate Hotlink and Maxis help to deactivate.
