QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jul 31 2017, 04:45 PM) Sad case for msian, there's quite some affordable option from LG, but I think most not available here. I think official selling, possible to get cheaper option from Dell, but not sure how much. i check LG site not here they have 34inch models 3440X1440 no fancy tech like $600 to 800 but not available here..sad really also check lazada, acer store giving RM150 discount until today but sadly not on X34 dell only have U3415W for us here, RM3699 but dell again..im just sick of dell after staring at a dell monitor for many years now lol

QUOTE(Cynox @ Jul 31 2017, 04:55 PM) My 4 years Dell U3014 just died. Looking for a ultrawide replacement now. Is the X34A really that good for gaming? You can run it efficiently with a MSI 660ti (as in your sig) for gaming? Depend on games that old card can run old games only. On my previous GTX1070, almost all games with ultra setting, some will be at 40fps ( The Division ) but with g-sync you dont felt laggy like regualr 40fps. Recommend GTX1080 and above

Then total cost will be with a 1080Ti. my brief price search yesterday night concludes that: cost of (free sync curved monitor + AMD card) < cost of (G-sync monitor + 1080ti). The difference can be as much as RM1,500, worth it? This post has been edited by Cynox: Jul 31 2017, 05:51 PM

I think the only cons is, you wont able to go back mid range graphic card I actually upgraded from 660ti to 970, but sold and upgrade to 1070 just couple of weeks later when 1070 released 970 cant even handle minimum

If low budget then go for freesync, but if get extra go for gsync, really worth it.. ultrawide + 1440p + 100hz , really superb bro.. really satisfied for me.. either for gaming or surfing.. I can open side by side fb n youtube.. no words can describe bro hahaha.. If u got extra n extra budget for later upgrade gc, then go for gsync la bro.. Nvidia card more expensive, later u need to upgrade to nvidia also coz u use gsync monitor, plus u need a powerful gc to run it nicely..

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Jul 31 2017, 04:38 PM) you got your point, RM800 in RM4K is not that big of a difference and gets a much better monitor any other new UW coming soon? or we wont be getting anything new because of the obvious reason I just bought the X34A few days ago RM4.4k. With 1080ti definitely worth it.

That truly sucks... I wonder if the LED tax thing is written somewhere or they simply tax 30% to just anything you bring in. Imagine buying a 1080 Ti for Amazon and getting 30% at custom. wow

Imagine buying a 1080 Ti for Amazon and getting 30% at custom. wow In fairness to the agents, I saw a Tariff with 30% tax for LED online. I should have known?!?!?! However, other computer parts such as Videocards, Processors, etc, they only charge 6% GST. I checked it as well. It's probably a discretion of the Customs agent. There are forumers in LYN who got only 6% GST. Guess I ain't lucky huh? Guess i'm the guinea pig for all those people who are planning to buy a monitor outside MY. To know more about the Tariff, you can click here.

QUOTE(amirudin920927 @ Jul 31 2017, 11:26 PM) Thats 60hz only bro plus no Gsync.. Gsync that make it Gsync only good for gaming, right? I m semi retired from gaming already. More into video editing stuff maybe which I think no difference 144hz or 60hz. The U3818dw is similar specs to LG UC38 I think plus better connectivity but without Freesync 75hz and Bluetooth audio. I saw U3818dw spec sheet, it can actually run 85hz but not officially maybe.
