Really wanted to jump to Ultrawide but i'm torn between 34 and 29 because of the price difference. LG 29 is super cheap but I would probably regret in getting the 34. Any users of Crossover or any other cheap brands that I can consider?

Hi guys,

I got an LGUM68 running on a GTX 1070. Anyone knows how to enable 75hz without using freesync?

Menu-> Game Adjust ->Freesync just enable it even though it is not for nvidia
Then go to display adapter or nvidia and change native setting to 75hz..that's how i did mine with a gtx1070

Nice! Are you using 29UM68? Does it have frame skips or do you enable adaptive v-sync to cap your resolution to 75hz? Is the 15hz improvement significant?

yes I do..try to use DP cable for optimum satisfaction and function
I play simulation games mostly like ETS2, FSX, X Plane etc, I opt for adaptive v-sync and yes there is an improvement when set to 75hz you can check out this for games that is optimised for 21:9

Great! Appreciate the tips bro! I'll be using DP as I read there is a limitation if you use HDMI. Thanks again! rclxms.gif

Finally got my dp cable. I tried testing with 1hz increment, at 64hz was fine with no frame skip, at 65hz I'm getting frame skip. at 75hz even worst, getting like 1 frame drop at 5th frame.

Is it true with 29UM68 + Nvidia GPU it is kinda hit and miss when you try to use 75hz? some users from reddit reported that they even manage to get it to 75hz using hdmi while some others cant even go beyond 60hz even with dp cable.

I enabled freesync in osd setting, then changed the refresh rate from drop down menu in nvidia control panel
*
have you tried to update the software? It's probably a hit and miss but I hope a driver can fix these frame drops.

It was a very promising monitor but the Nvidia+Freesync combo will get you nowhere. It will take a lot of tweaking and hacking to be able to let you play without frame drops. Guess Nvidia drivers prevents users to use budget monitors and force you to pay for G-SYNC sad.gif

I'll give it a try, havent update the driver since december  sweat.gif

it's a long shot but might as well update my driver.  smile.gif

edit: tried with latest driver, no luck. Not really a big deal as this monitor exceed my expectations so far. Maybe one day I'll try with amd gpu  sad.gif

Hey bro,

I got mine to work without Frame Drops. I turned off FreeSync and restarted my monitor. I then created custom refresh rates via CRU and changed the settings using windows display. I purposely bypassed Nvidia controls just to not mess up things although they're of the same haha! I tried to restart and performed the stress tests. I barely feel the stutter and the motion so far is seamless running at 75hz. I think I can even crank it to 80 but I don't want to stress the monitor that much. Maybe I'll try just to see how it's different from 75hz. Btw, i'm using a Palit 1070.

Thanks for the update. Did you get the CRU from monitortest website ver 1.3? or is there any other up to date place to get the CRU? I have never tried overclocking monitor before so I want to read thoroughly before attempting.

Also, did you install LG monitor driver (from cd or downloaded) or simply using the default pnp generic monitor?

gratz on getting 75hz to work with nvidia gpu  rclxms.gif

edit: done some testing and tweaking with CRU, tested with hdmi and dp cable and no luck in eliminating the frame skip. tough luck  sweat.gif

I downloaded the driver from the LG site. Using a DP just to make sure I can squeeze enough juice to hit 75 hz. Better make sure you disable Freesync on the monitor before overclocking. I have the latest CRU which is version 1.3 if i'm not mistaken. Once you have successfully created custom refresh rate, click ok then restart your PC. I started OC at 70hz then slowly increased the until I reached 75hz. I haven't really exceeded more than 75hz just to not stress the monitor too much. Try it out bro smile.gif it's more of trial and error. What card are you using btw?

I tried but still have frame skip,  maybe im just unlucky lol.
Gonna try a few more times and see if i can get lucky like you.
Im tempted to trade my 1060 for rx480 but the hassle,  ughhh  rclxub.gif

Actually I still have micro-stutters but it wasn't as bad as when freesync was on. my FPS is not affected as well. I'm still hitting 70fps on an average on Witcher 3 max settings. It has micro stutters even on 60hz. Still need to do research how to get rid of it.

i scared dead pixel only. haha...it is local LG supplier right? how much is it?
The numbering very confusing, UM58, 59, 68, 57. LOL...

Yup, it's under LG MY warranty. UM5x series are for content creators, while the 6 series are built for gaming. So far I don't have dead pixels and everything seems and looks ok. smile.gif
