QUOTE(silencio87 @ Nov 10 2006, 07:22 PM) Hi people! I have a friend whose interested to work in Singapore...My friend wanna work as cabin crew for Singapore Airline. She wants to know hows life would be if she migrate to Singapore...what she'll need...eg..uhh..like passport or whatever. My friend is 20 years old. So,what do you think about that? If u want to get a PR u must at least work in Singapore 1 year and have to contribute wit CPF... also they want to see your SPM result (5 credit )... And depends on what skill u have they prefer technical skill or professional skill (accountant, engineering, IT ) And the last thing is depends on luck... good luck to ur friend...

Will inform her about it. Im curious..if she applies as SIA stewardess..she's consider working for Singapore right...she rents an apartment there ,work as stewardess for a year and so...she can later apply for PR..right? If she migrate to Singapore..i have good reasons for going there and visit her yay!!

I'm a Johorian. I worked there for 2 years in IT and got my PR. But now come back liow. Overall, I personally think S'pore is good for earning and saving money but not a place to settle down for long term.
Come to think of it I can sing "Mari Kita" better than those S'porean. Some of them don't understand what they sing. Hahahaha.....

Singaporean = Lifeless creature.. It's pretty obvious that working in Singapore (for Malaysian) is only for the sweet conversion rate. Other than that... sigh.... Sorry I'm pretty much a KL supporter This post has been edited by Demitri: Nov 12 2006, 04:01 PM

If i'm not mistaken even with PR you cannot solely buy a HDB unit, you will need to co-own the unit with another PR.

Spore is a better place to earn your salary. Standard of living is also lower than in Malaysia. Taking public transport is a breeze compare with our notRapid KL. Crime rate is also low. Never heard of snatch thief and Mat rempit over there.

I know of people getting PRs within a few months. About 3 months fastest -given the processing time is already 2 months... For me I took my time and still got it after 8 months (I applied on the 6th month I was there). Not sure if that 1 year minimum working period applies to all working visa types. Is it stipulated by MOM officially? Even if not, I'll bet those with Employment Passes might be more favoured compared to the more common Working Pass or S-Passes.

However, owning even decent property will make you servitude to the bank for a number of decades.
