I agree with ZM Fong. They have no good reason other than greed to use soldered RAM, I'm not supporting that with my wallet.

battery plug not charge - tried delete the 2 driver in device manager but still same

check battery report - design capacity is 93240mWh but full charge is 53250mWh

yesterday showed a warning that adapter problem. but i wondering is adapter or battery itself.

keyboard got some issue.

i getting a tech to refurbish. i'm thinking about change the keyboard, bottom cover, get 2 new hard disk, check the battery. what else i can upgrade on my alienware? RAM?

Dear All,

I own a Dell Alienware M15.

However, the screen often flicking especially I am using it on battery. The technician can not fix it unless i capture the flicking video or shown the technician on sport.

The screen flicking varies and non-predictable. The worst case, it's like screen freeze with white thick whiteline suddenly.

The technician required me providing or reproducing it ..... else, they refuse to fix it.

AW 13 R1 having issue with brightness control. The brightness stays the same no matter how i adjust it.

Having this issue since I reset my windows 10 Home 64 bit as was having wifi issue previously.

I have tried reinstalling all the graphic drivers but to no avail.

hi guys,

need some opinion and advise..

my AW 17 R2 warranty just expired not too long ago..

im thinking of change laptop as i worry in case anything happen to this AW, repairs or change parts will b expensive? or i can just go to lowyat and let those Pakistans or Bangla settle..? lol

actually i barely use laptop so thinking to sell this and get a new laptop around the budget of 2.5k with 2 years warranty or more so no headache.... i suppose i sell this 1 now and top up few hundred can get laptop within my budget?

it all boils down to my main concern about this AW , if it breaks down will difficult to repair or find parts? i use this laptop very lightly only mostly for browsing.... no gaming nor vigorous tasks...

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know where I can buy an Alienware Area 51-M (17 inch) in malaysia with proper warranty?

Dell Malaysia doesn't seem to have it, and I don't want to buy from Lazada because I remember Dell Malaysia once posted on their website that they will not cover warranties for laptops bought via Lazada

Hi everyone, I hope someone can support me. At my wits end now.

I own an AW R1 and it seems i might have some problem with my motherboard because previously temp was as high as 100c. I sent my AW to do cleaning and it was filled with dust. After cleaning now is cooler at about 60c-80c but still could not run some games properly even after reset

Dell support suggested i change the motherboard, heatsink and fans..but since end of service life they no longer have the parts.

Can someone advise where can I go to get the parts or places which provide services for Alienware parts. I also intend to upgrade my GPU if possible.

at this point i'm thinking of laying off the interest... especially on Intel chips.

They took a lot of hit (in performance) patches after patches since Spectre and Meltdown, and then there were a few more? As much as people want to deny it, its true.

So you do have a point here.

Thanks again for the heads up!

Looking at how efficient the new AMD 4900HS mobile CPU is, and how it beat Intel i9, I wouldn't recommend high end i9 to most people.
