Included OS ?
*
Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 - RM 949
Asrock H97 Pro4 - RM 389
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1377
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 429
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 189
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 379
Corsair Carbide Spec-02/03 - RM 239
Dell S2340L IPS monitor - RM 649
Windows 7 Pro OEM - RM 200

Total: RM 5009 (GPU is from Cycom, OS is from Idealtech, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

Windows 7 and 8.1 will be eligible for Windows 10 free upgrade next month so I think just get Windows 7 now because the price difference between 7 and 8.1 is quite big, just use it for roughly for 5 weeks then you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

MoBo is enough, though you can get a MoBo with more features if you want to in the future.Like Asrock H97-Pro4 RM369.

You better fork out another RM 200 for the OS (Windows 7 Pro OEM), the current rig suggestion is quite tight to squeeze in OS sweat.gif

Windows 7 can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free next month.

Not so sure whether this is the correct place to ask this...if not, dont kick me laugh.gif

I'm building a new system...and,
I got "another" budget around RM1,500 after this raya fest
What I need is suggestion for:-
• GPU*
• Full HD Monitor LED** (prefer one with DVI / HDMI input)
• Custom extention cable; looking for one suitable with my color theme

This is what I already have since early this year...
Collecting one by one each months smile.gif
The color theme are BLACK-RED-WHITE

• Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7
• CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k
• RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 32GB 1600MHz (4x8GB DIMM)
• Chasis: NZXT S340 White
• CPU Cooler: Corsair CX750M semi-modular
• 1x 128GB Transcend 370 SSD
• 1x 128GB Plextor M6e M.2
• 2x 2TB WD Green 7200RPM

*GPU
• I'm a photographer/videographer. Looking for GPU that beneficial for my video rendering & photo editing. Lots of people say get GPU that have CUDA... and that would be NVidia... if NVidia, the Physx also beneficial for gaming tech... not sure whether would go for multi-GPU setup or not (tight budget)...if ATI, with same price range to NVidia, perhap I could get away with higher VRAM (am I able?)

**Monitor
• Would love to have TWO Full HD display setup... but then again, if NVidia (above)... most survey said that NVidia Surround is not yet stable... would love to do the Eyefinity with Flex Technology... then again (above), I would lose the benificial of CUDA from NVidia... Grrrr... Linus from LinusTech / NCIX suggest to run both... but from the setup show in youtube, it's kinda "seems like I'm not capable of it"... laugh.gif

Not all games use PhysX..there are a few games that was developed using NVidia Gameworks..like pCars and The Witcher 3,so AMD cards get lower FPS. doh.gif

I'd not go for an SLI setup with a mid-range card, rather do that with a high-end card. biggrin.gif

Palit GTX750 StormX OC 1GB GDDR5 RM434.60
Samsung S22C170BS 21.5" RM402.80
Dell S2240L 21.5" RM549
Total:RM1386.40

[Budget] = RM3000, possible to increase up to RM3.5k

Gaming + Microsoft Office

Casing (slightly bigger than normal size) + PSU (OCZ 500W) + 500gb HD (if budget allows, maybe can buy a brand new 1TB HD)

1920x1080

DOTA2 and CS:GO, but prefer to have options open for higher-end games on medium

Nvidia, XEON, 120gb SSD (250gb if can fit budget) , prefer to be able to buy the parts from 1 shop.

PJ / KL

Was thinking of getting a GTX960 to save money as a 970 seems to be RM500 more expensive?

My PSU is about 6-7 years old, I'm not sure if I have to replace it for these new hardware.

Thanks for any advice you can provide smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestion! May I know how come the Zotac is so cheap? Any compromise in terms of performance or quality of the card?

Well if you looked for Asus, Gigabyte or MSI at first then you probably won't know their products are overpriced, if you want best for bucks, look for Zotac/Palit/Leadtek/Gainward etc, their prices are more reasonable. The card I suggested is reference card, meaning it is using standard blower type cooler and will run hotter than non reference card, if you want non reference card which comes with custom cooler, design and clock speed, the cheapest that I found is Palit GTX970 Jetstream version, RM 1377 from Cycom. Cheapest and most expensive GTX970 is still a GTX970, the performance will still be the same, just a small frame rate advantage for those overclocked card, don't forget you can always overclock yourself to match the clock speed offered by other brands if you want.

Alright I'll consider the Palit as well. If I want to stretch the budget I will probably opt for that. Thanks a lot!

Wow, thanks bro... very informative. Especially the custom sleeve extention cable infos biggrin.gif

Agreed with the PhysX stuffs...

SLI - Might be not... tongue.gif

What are your thought about MSI N760 TF 2GD5 OC @ MSI R9 280x Gaming 3GD5 other than "over price" laugh.gif

i7 4790k is an option at the beginning... but, had made some research... comparing between those 2 CPU's... just a slight improvement... 10-12%
So, I go for "value for money" of the capable i5 4690k rather than i7 4790k. That's why I throw the rest on the 32GB RAM... initially planing to get only 16GB... smile.gif

I don't think you can find MSI GTX760 TF anymore, plus the MSI GTX960 Tiger OC costs the same. tongue.gif MSI R9 280X Gaming costs RM12xx,which is extremely close to the price of the cheapest GTX970 which costs RM1271. sweat.gif

Are you going to be gaming?
