When is skylake coming?
*
Broadwell just announced early this month and still not yet here in Malaysia. So I guess Skylake will arrive here by late Q4 2015.

Zotac version doesn't come with LED/light.

I would say that 4GB on GTX960 is a gimmick, GTX960 is not a high end card and you will probably end up with medium texture/settings and high chance it won't even use > 2GB of VRAM with just medium texture, unless you don't care about the frame rate and just want to have nice graphics.

GTX960 4GB price is very close to reference version of GTX970, no point going for it. GTX970 is more worth in value.

Intel Core i5 4460 - RM 679
MSI B85M-E45 - RM 289
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1271
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 189
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135

Total: RM 2971 (GPU is from Cycom, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

Do you need monitor, keyboard, mouse, speaker and OS?

1. Yup, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse PS/2 port.

2. It has 4 RAM slots.

3. Price for 500GB HDD is around RM 169, just RM 20 difference, I suggest just get the 1TB, it is more worth.

4. FSP Hexa series is mid end PSU, average range of PSU normally falls between RM 150 - RM 250, the component inside the PSU determines the quality of the PSU, not just the price btw.

5. Aerocool V3X ~RM 100 - RM 110

6. Change to i7 is possible with RM 500 top up but I suggest Xeon E3 1231 V3 (RM 949), same tier with i7 with lower clock speed and no iGPU only.

7. It has 4 SATA 3 ports and 2 SATA 2 ports. And this is M-ATX mobo, change to ATX size (top up RM 100 for Asrock H97 Pro4) for 6 SATA 3 ports and more PCIE slots.

8. Asus DVD-RW SATA ODD, or any other brands, price is same (RM 59).

Let me get my processor tiers correct:

Core 2 Duo < Core i5 < Core i7 < Xeon. Ain't Xeon a server grade processor??

Not all Xeons are only for servers. You can use e.g Intel Xeon E5-2699 on an LGA-2011 v3 motherboard. brows.gif

There are quad cores, quad cores with HT,6 cores and more.

2. So i have RM 800 minus all of the above. So i planning on buying a case with a cooler. I'm planning on playing for 24 hour or leaving the computer on for 2-4 days and my room is very hot like hell itself. Any recommended case and cooler combo with the remaining RM800?. At first i wanted to use the Corsair carbide 300r+Cryorig h7 but decided it was not enough. I Thank you for the recommendation.

If you are fine with the price of Asus and Gigabyte product, then it is good to go, but you can save at least RM 400 for choosing other brands which offer similar features and performance. Your build requires 500W only, so a cheaper Seasonic M12II EVO 520W PSU RM 319 will do the trick. You could go for GTX980 with 5k budget.

Overpriced parts.GTX980 only costs RM400-500 more.

BTW bro..did you checked the IdealTech's price list? The prices of the CPU and MoBo you listed above are only applicable when you bundle red + green... whistling.gif

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz RM949
Asrock H97-Pro4 RM369
Gainward GTX980 Phantom 4GB GDDR5 RM2099
Kingston Value RAM 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RM209
WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM194
Liteon 900S 256GB RM429
Seasonic M12II Evo 620W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular RM379
Corsair Carbide Spec-03 RM219.42
CM Hyper TX3 Evo RM94.34
Windows 7 Pro 64Bit RM200
Total:RM4981.76
Prices with cents are from Jayacom@LYP,GPU is from TechView,OS is from IdealTech and the rest are from Viewnet@LYP. smile.gif

I'd suggest you to wait for benchmarks of R9 390X...it might beat the GTX980. tongue.gif

Still got tiny budget left for an additional case fan, should be around RM20-40.

Performance wise R9 390 Nitro Tri-X will win but as for TDP, GTX970 still leading.

Some games favour Nvidia so we need more benchmark only can make decision tongue.gif

It should be alright since it is a locked processor, if it is too hot for you after you build your rig, then you can consider getting aftermarket cooler for it.
