About yeelights, are there any particular version to get? Let’s say for the RGB type. Thanks and how is mesh Wi-Fi working for you? Better than your Nighthawk?

Nope., i do not have any smart home. Too complicated for me to set it up.
I just want simple connection to the bulb.

yes there are 2 versions, colour and white one.
price wise, white one should be around RM50 or below, the colour one around RM70??

mesh is fine but could not connect directly for unifi, i still use my nighthawk as bridge and the mesh act as access point only biggrin.gif
if you use time no problem.
i actually use only 2 at home and another one i put in my airbnb apartment which connect directly with time.
coverage is much better even with only 2.

for double storey house, i think 2 unit is enough, 3 is overkill.

how good are these alternatives? another issue is wifi, in order to cover the whole house, i guess we need mesh system
if not using mesh system, would the bulbs have issue with the wifi connection?

what do you mean by home assistant running? only thing i have been using now is ha bridge
*
No issue with wifi as long you got wifi repeaters for dead zone around the house.

I don't haven't Phillips bulbs so can't really give comparison.
The ailight and sonoff b1 works well so far, Alexa skill very responsive, brightness i think similar with yeelight.
The ailight is the cheapest one so far, around rm30-35 at taobao

What i meant was if you've run homeassistant before then you should be familiar with the automation script

hi guys,

just a thought. recently my auto gate controller board was damaged due to lightning stike from the evening thunder storms.

this got me thinking, with all the smart devices we currently have at home, is there any need from lightning protection? if so, what form? i can think of adding a surge protection at the main incoming, but not sure whether this would help.

I dunno if it’s too dim or just right for you.
600 lumens is about a 40watts equivalent tungsten bulb

I plan to put it in a stand light at living hall.
40watts should be enough to create the ambient even i on all the downlight, right?

Will August Smart Lock work with Android devices? I am interested to buy the  lock but seems many Android devices owners are complaining about the August Lock's autolock and auto-unlock inability with Android devices as per feedback in Playstore.

Don't have such issue with iOS and Android for me.

Hi, try to reset it by switching off and on from circuit breaker that is connected to it. If can't, probably hardware problem

You did the reset by circuit breaker?

Actually I also dunno the reason behind this reset. I had the same problem as you and then i tried this reset and it worked.

any idea y unifi doesnt work with mesh network?

i dont mind putting repeaters, but damn troublesome when u go to different floor u need to log in and out

although the lights for that particular floor shudnt be of any problem

if i have 2 different location running alexa would it be a problem? or i need a different device with the app on it?

Don't try to think home automation is reliable.
