Facebook group got one for sale but asking Rm400
*
buy from ebay is cheaper or wait for black friday
if RM400, top up a little bit + coupon discount you can buy normal google home already.
mine received today, i bought at 11stret for RM550++ after coupon discount.

Where cheapest to buy a google home mini? Got a Philips hue starter kit and want to try it out. Tq
*
if you have android or iphone can use google assistant to pair and do voice command accordingly.
you should buy yeelights for much cheaper option and does not require hub.
philips hue app is very slow and outdated.

yeelights support both alexa and google home/assistant as long as you connect the lights using singapore server.

You could get a remote like this

http://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.htm...o_android_4.1.4

Then install this,

https://github.com/1technophile/OpenMQTTGat...aster/README.md

Gets the signal from remote and customize mqtt for automation.
*
thanks for the links
but i dont think i can pull off something like that... the settings needed and everything hahahha

since fans and aircons have remotes
most likely need a good automation system for the lightings + voice command will do
the rest just let them use the ori remotes

what is this yeelights i have been seeing? alternatives for phillips hue?

It's pretty easy to setup and cheap if you already got home assistant running

There's a bunch of cheaper alternatives for Phillips hue now like sonoff b1, ailight bulbs and that yeelight. No need for hub since using WiFi

how good are these alternatives? another issue is wifi, in order to cover the whole house, i guess we need mesh system
if not using mesh system, would the bulbs have issue with the wifi connection?

what do you mean by home assistant running? only thing i have been using now is ha bridge

Managed to get brand new Google Home mini from ebay for RM275. High positive feedback and star rating seller. Quite confident not scam. I was planning to buy Echo Dot all the while until I found out Alexa struggles with two accounts. Example - My account's spotify playlist, calender etc and my wife's profile and so on. I liked the idea Home will be smart enough to recognise my voice and cater to my account specifically.

Any idea where to find diffuser for light strips?

built up is less than 4k sq

so which lights is the best now?

I have similar problem as yours.
But i plan to install the light at 1st floor, as wifi can't reach the 2nd floor.
