man... i did a simple search on aliexpress.
rm58 only. complete set with video and got buildin battery.

MYR58.19 | Tuya Doorbell With Camera Wireless
https://a.aliexpress.com/_oCSboip

compared to my current dumb doorbell switch box, rm20

i felt than i'm stupid if i were to follow my existing plan.
the only cons... i need to charge every few month.
Should i take this?

That looks more suitable for apartment style where its not exposed to the elements, mine is zigbee doorbell sensor that senses the button press of a traditional doorbell.

Hi there can share brand model and link ? Is it the Sage one ? If so, does it need its own hub ?

I'm currently using the outdoor dumb doorbell button wired to a door sensor (ZigBee). Works well with automation, can ring my tuya ZigBee siren, homepods and Google home minis, and Imou cameras (via Ffmpeg)

But always curious to learn more, especially if it's ZigBee and designed for doorbells

Ahh I saw your advert. But I don't have a sage hub and I also don't use z2m and ha. If only tuya made one. But ill just continue with my door sensor setup for now first.

I think the product is actually discontinued, no point getting a hub that was specific to that. For Z2M ZHA users this is an option if wanna use traditional doorbell.

I just had another incident with 3 of my smart switches. One 2 gang and the other were 3 gangs switches. MOES Zigbee smart switch.
1. The 2 gang gave out a black smoke and both devices are in OFF state upon failure
2. The 3 gangs both have blown caps and devices that are being controlled remained in ON state after despite blue LED is off (live in leaked into live out) rclxub.gifrclxub.gifrclxub.gif

Now comes the question, is there any sirim certified smart switch available? If we purchase house insurance, will they check the switches we use (sirim/ce certified...)?
*
Seems like blown caps is pretty common for smart switches... Im using those smartlife box smart switch which I installed in my T8 lighting. At first I threw away a couple but later I open up and seems like the caps for wifi always blown after a year or so. Upgraded the caps from 10v to 16v and it has been working fine since. I just dont understand why they dont use higher voltage caps. They must have known it would cause problem.

Which presence sensor do you plan to get?
Budget diy with ld2410 or slightly expensive ones like aqara fp2?
If you got ceiling fans in the room, at least with diy you need to find best spot that doesn’t get triggered by spinning fan.
Could be on the wall or ceiling

Neutral wires for smart switches, points for cctv, auto gate wires for infra red sensors, extra wires for doorbell camera, cctv points at the pillar gate too, floor sockets too if you want to light up your sofa or have a smart display at your sofa/corner table, nowadays some sofa even have a motor for recliner and to charge your phone.

Points beside windows for smart curtains, unless you want to use the battery ones and charge every 1-2 months.

Points for robot vacuum, with also a water tap point away and below from the socket, nowadays robot vaccum have auto refill and drain water like washing machine, need have the water drain hole nearby too. Remember to have this for your washing machine too.

A ceiling outlet at balcony or where you want to hang clothes, now they have the motorized hanger will go up after u remove your clothes so it looks neat.

If you doing awning remmeber to add points for that too. No harm to have enough points, it will be very messy when you don't have enough points, wires flying here and there. You later buy an extension cable also another cost, or do casing also cost, ugly too, might as well do sufficient socket points, same price in the end.

Points at toilet for smart mirror or with led lights behind the mirror if u fancy such thing.

Remember for kitchen, do not loop the wires. Others still can as long no use above 3000W

Hello sifus, I would like to check if EVA or reTouch brand smart switches are ok? Specifically the no neutral/no capacitor kind.

Salesperson tells me that no neutral or capacitor is required, which is counter to my knowledge of smart systems in general (need neutral/capacitor to ensure steady small current in switch or circuit).

Can anyone verify whether that is possible?

Yes, I do use some Aqara no neutral (no capacitor). Works fine.
