QUOTE(DeaDLocK @ Nov 7 2006, 10:46 AM) Yep, I know what I'm talking about. I can't get 320kb/sec sustained on a 2MB line, can I... Then maybe it is geographical. In my area, nothing is affected. Especially when I download from this particular server - six concurrent connections, and I max my bandwidth any time 24/7. If I started to see throttling I would cancel my account. I don't know what to conclude out of this. I am on corporate line with 5 fixed IP ranging from 69 XX to 219 xx and none of them makes any difference in terms of http or ftp dl. I could never get 320, max I ever did was 190 considering that my DSLAM is just on the border of 5km radius from where I am so that's fair enough. BT, as I've mentioned earlier is throttled 24/7 on all IPs. So my fair guess is TM is throttlling area's by it's Streamyx user's density or in DeadLocK case he could be in an area with a brand new exchange and throttling is not implemented yet. Hmm.. lets see...... next to setiawangsa, Taman Keramat Permai. We call that area klang valley is it? Oh and btw, I have both 60.48 and 60.51, 60.48 loves to make mountain graphs, while 60.51 top all the way. I guess that's for me .

Some of us suspect that tm*nut is throttling by user accounts rather then by area. There are guys who are heavy BT users, find themselves throttled to high heaven. while on the other hand, guys who don't use BT so much, are not throttled. QUOTE We refer to your complaint pertaining to the P2P issue to Consumer Forum Malaysia (CFM).
Many thanks for writing your valuable feedback and inputs. We wish to assure you that TM Net takes feedback from customers very seriously, especially when it relates to the quality of our services. We would like to inform you that TM Net is currently performing some technical trials on our network system as part of our efforts to continuously improve our products and services. Regretfully, the trial exercise may have resulted in some customers experiencing some slowness in downloading and/or surfing the Internet. We are fully aware of this and we have taken all the necessary steps to expedite the completion of this trial exercise. Rest assured, TM Net has also taken all the necessary steps to minimize similar disruptions in the future. On the matter of p2p, we would like to reiterate that the p2p throughput is subject to peers (seed) availability and their throughput. Please note that TM Net does not have any control over peers availability / throughput. We wish to highlight that as an Internet Service Provider, TM Net only provides Internet access and does not guarantee content delivery and performance where it is not within the domain of TM Net. As a matter of policy, our international traffic management is designed to cater for all our customers so they have the optimal surfing experience within the normal limits of Internet usage. As our priority is positive customer experience, we hope to highlight to customers that it is important for them to practice responsible usage of the allocated bandwidth based on normal usage.
We would like to reiterate that we are not against the use of p2p but we would like to take this opportunity to educate our customers that the usage of excessive p2p does impact the overall service availability to other customers.
We wish to also highlight to customers that TM Net provides each subscriber with an allocated bandwidth to which other subscribers may use the allocation when not used by others. Unfortunately, the nature of p2p more often than not, takes more than the allocated bandwidth, thus causing undue setbacks for other users when they want to use the service. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. As a responsible service provider, we believe it is our responsibility and commitment to educate and encourage responsible usage of the available infrastructure. Once again, thank you for your direct feedback, and most importantly for being our valued customer.
Regards, Afzan Abdullah Rapid Response Team,CRM TM Net Sdn Bhd kinda lame already the excuses....maintainance and upgrading works kononnya if they always upgrade and maintain i dun think there should be any problem wif streamyx and nobody would complaint....peaceful it would be...hehe

Just go to TMPoint complain directly. So sad, they know nothing about this throttle issue! Only said this is technical problem, no concern on them. My god! at least u should help to highlight to top management instead of saying know nothing!

Unfortunately, the nature of p2p more often than not, takes more than the allocated bandwidth, thus causing undue setbacks for other users when they want to use the service. In other words, a 512 kbps connection is shared among 10 users so when 9 of them are not using only then you'll get full 512 kbps speed.
